Why Teachers Matter More in a Flipped Classroom

Why Teachers Matter More in a Flipped Classroom | Classe inversée -- Expérimentation -- Recherches | Scoop.it

The reason Flipped Learning makes teachers more valuable is that it changes the dynamic of the classroom. No longer is content delivery the focus of the class, nor is the teacher’s main responsibility the dissemination of knowledge. Instead, teachers take on the role of a facilitator of learning. They can work with students in small groups and have more one-on-one interactions. The simple act of removing the direct instruction (lecture) from the whole group changes the dynamic of the room and allows the teacher more time to personalize and individualize the learning for each student. Each student gets his/her own education tailored to their individual needs. Instead of a one size fits all education, each student gets just what they need when they need it. So if you are flipping your class, know that your role is more valuable than just a stream of knowledge. You…Connect, Listen, Push, Go Deeper, Laugh, Interact, Inspire, Play, Provoke, Encourage, and Motivate. You are a teacher!

L'utilisation des vidéos est devenu courante. Par contre, les rendre interactif l'est moins souvent. Voici quelques idées.

Ultimate List of Free Content Creation Tools & Resources | Classe inversée -- Expérimentation -- Recherches | Scoop.it

While other parts of business and marketing are becoming increasingly automated, content creation is still a very manual job.

That being said, there are plenty of tools out there to make creating content much easier.

Below, you'll find a list of 36 fantastic tools and resources to help you research, write, edit, and design content more easily.

(You'll notice there are a lot of design tools in here -- that's because visual content is often the part of the content creation process where people get the most nervous and frustrated. So don't worry, we've got a ton in there for you.)...

Make content creation easier (and more fun) with these 35 free tools and resources from Lindsay Kolowich at HubSpot. I thought I knew all the tools but she's updated the list and you'll find several social media tools you didn't know before. Christmas comes early. Highly recommended! 11/10. ;-)

I use several of these tools regularly, and can recommend every one of them. I suspect I'll be investigating some of the visual/design options heading into the new year. Use this list to expand your reach in 2017!

I thought article held some rather promising points in connection to my Globalization in Art Education course I'm taking this semester. As an art educator in this current digital and globalized world, I personally struggle with finding merit in allowing the use of smart phones within my classroom. This article provides necessary and validated examples of situations in which even myself can not deny the importance and usage of adapting my classroom to this globally and digitally aware era of education.

...and for journalists
Oskar Almazan's curator insight, February 8, 8:42 AM
Niche-specific content is usually not readily available through regular generic search engines. One example is the academic and scholarly content. While running a search query about an academic topic through a generic search engine such as Google would probably render fairly decent results, it, however, usually takes digging into so much fluff before finally landing on relevant results. This is where having access to topic-specific search engines comes in handy. Such search engines do not only provide specific content tailored to the topic under study but their content is more likely to be reliable and authoritative. To this end, we have compiled this list of excellent academic search engines that teachers, student researchers and academics can use to quickly locate and access scholarly works and publications. We have only included what we believe are the most relevant and popular titles out there.
