Rancho Aguaje de la Centinela

This article refers to the land grant. For the Centinela Adobe, see Centinela Adobe Rancho Aguaje de la Centinela was a 2,219-acre (8.98 km 2) Mexican land grant in present day Los Angeles County, California given in 1837 to Ygnacio Machado. The name means "Sentinel of Waters" in Spanish, and probably refers to Centinela Springs.

Ku Klux Klan activities in Inglewood, California , were highlighted by the 1922 arrest and trial of 36 men, most of them masked, for a night-time raid on a suspected bootlegger and his family. The raid led to the shooting death of one of the culprits, an Inglewood police officer.

"Welcome back Street Racers, Surfers, Hodads, and Low Riders to the Early 60s when A&W ruled on the south end of Hawthorne Blvd. and the Wich Stand ruled on the north end of Inglewood. 
In between was nothin' but Cruisin' and Street Racin'. If you wanted to pull over between these two ICONS OF THE DRIVE IN SET, then Frosties, Taco Tio, Sallys, and a few other places that have faded from memory were your pit stops. 
No one picked up any girls because no one knew how. Oh sure, all the guys talked the BIG TALK, but no one had ..."
