Things are about to get very interesting... “The idea is for Paramount to be a creative studio where talent can come and pitch us any idea for any screen. A director or writer can come to us and have an idea that could be for a digital episodic content, for a prime-time series. We’ll create and distribute programming for audiences across every screen – digital, cable, online, traditional broadcast and maybe even microbudget theatrical. We’re an incubator for all of that.”

MUST WATCH: SUPERCELL 4K. Severe storms and tornadoes in 4K, by Alister Chapman (02:03)

Posted by Alister Chapman on June 10, 2013 •

In memory of Tim Samaras, Paul Samaras, Carl Young •

"So here it is… a short compilation of clips shot across 10 days in the US this May. To get these shots I drove over 3,500 miles criss crossing the states of Oklahoma, Texas, Nebraska, Kansas, Colorado and South Dakota. It was a trip that started and ended with some tragic events and left me quite unsure of my own emotions and thoughts with regard to storm chasing, something that has been a very big part of my career, business and life for nearly 15 years.

(...) My shooting kit included my PMW-F5 with R5 raw recorder, a selection of DSLR lenses (Canon mount), a Miller Solo tripod, media, batteries, chargers, and a whole bunch of storm chasing electronics and computers. When your packing in a hurry like this a check list can be a life saver. Forgetting something as simple as a cable when you won’t have time to find a replacement can ruin a shoot. 24 hours later, me and my 75Kg of gear were in Oklahoma City."

35 Insanely Realistic 3D Renderings

35 Insanely Realistic 3D Renderings | Cine | Scoop.it
Ever look at a photo and wonder if it's real or fake? Well, prepare to have your mind blown. Here are 35 of the most realistic 3D renderings you'll ever see.

Henrik Safegaard - Cloneartist's curator insight, July 26, 2013 11:33 AM

The works of art above aren't actual photos, even though we'd really like them to be. They were created by talented 3D artists who blew our minds with spectacular graphics skills.

The artists create portraits so spot-on that they're hard to distinguish from real photographs. Instead of capturing cityscapes and landscapes by scouring the outdoors with digital cameras, they generated the same images using 3D software.

Why Google will crush Nielsen

Why Google will crush Nielsen | Cine | Scoop.it

The web user is the most watched consumer ever. For tracking purposes, every large site drops literally dozens of cookies in the visitor's browser. In the most comprehensive investigation on the matter, The Wall Street Journal found that each of the 50 largest websites in the United Sates, weighing 40% of the US page views, installed an average of 64 files on a user device. (See the WSJ's What They Know series and a Monday Note about tracking issues.) As for server logs, they record every page sent to the user and they tell with great accuracy which parts of a page collect most of the reader's attention.

But when it comes to measuring a digital viewer's commercial value, sites rely on old-fashioned panels, that is limited user population samples. Why?
