Here's some adult basic literacy resources that we'll be sharing with the tutors and students at the Tacoma Area Literacy Council.
Most adults over the age of 40 were never formally identified as having dyslexia, which may have complicated their education and work advancement. These adults are eligible for resources and accommodations in education and the workplace. If they are applying for a GED, they may be eligible for an audiotape of the test.
The link for adult basic literacy providers lists low cost or free resources to help with formal identification of an LD. Many community colleges will test students believed to have an LD. Hope this helps!
