Advantages of Car Rentals

Advantages of Car Rentals | ChristianBerry | Scoop.it
All your questions on car sharing and car share rental benefits in Singapore answered.

infozone's curator insight, June 13, 2013 2:21 AM

There are many different aspects of car ownerships that are not ideal for someone who hardly ever drives. Individuals who live in metropolitan areas can find themselves without a place to park their vehicles for long periods of time, as well as all-consuming traffic and high gas prices. In major cities, most businesses are close together rather than spread out over many miles, and as such do not require much driving to access. Because of this, owning a car can be more of a burden than a luxury.

For city-dwellers, more attractive transportation options include taxis, buses, and subway systems. These have a much lower “cost of ownership” than vehicles, because they are not maintained by the rider. Bus passes can be purchased for frequent riders who commute to work, and a variety of subway and train companies offer discounts to employees of businesses who require frequent commuting. Subway systems allow for a 24 hour access to any part of the city at a negligible cost. These different methods of commuting allow riders to have many different options. Paying for car insurance and maintenance can get expensive, and is not always worth the convenience. The timely schedule and process of riding a bus or train means that there are no surprises.

http://www.superpages.com/supertips/top-10-advantages-renting-a-car.html

Sometimes, car rental in singapore is necessary in order to move or travel exceptionally long distances cheaply. Rental and sharing companies provide their customers with a large number of vehicles to choose from. Larger rental companies typically have a fleet of some of the latest vehicles, but can charge more than sharing businesses. The first step in determining the final cost is the type of vehicle that is desired. Larger and more performance-heavy cars cost more to rent than more economical rides, because they are more expensive for the business to insure. A van can be procured for a family trip over the summer, while a flashier ride can be rented for a night on the town. Choosing the right car does not stop at its make and model. Checking the body for any dents or scratches is important, and even taking the car on a test drive before deciding fully. This helps to prevent future problems with company vehicles that are not maintained properly.

Car sharing is a relatively new concept that many people are catching on to. Even if an individual already owns a vehicle, sometimes another type is needed, such as moving vans or family vans. Sharing companies offer a wide network of private owners who can offer their vehicles to others for a low hourly rate. This enables customers to choose more specific makes and models, and to get a cheaper price for only renting the vehicle a few hours at a time.

I have to agree. Brand erosion is a strategy the uninformed and inexperienced use. I see the merit in wanting to protect/improve their market share against Andriod/Samsung, etc., but whiy dip down oint to cheapie game? Apple has a high price, high value unique selling proposition. What will it be now?

Paulo Gervasio's curator insight, January 13, 2013 7:57 PM

The iPhone is more than the hardware, it is a sum of a few parts namely the IOS development community, the 500K apps, the app store, the apple store, the apple fan community and the hardware and hardware suppliers. As long as the reliability is not compromised, a few missing features for a second rate iPhone in exchange for a few hundred millions more users will not be bad!

The internal infighting and Forstall departure probably has a bigger negative impact

In the website it describe Google Glass as a Wearable computers which is a very interesting way to say it, cause I dont think Google Glass can do everything computer can do, but in my opinion it will become true in next 10 years, smart phone already can do over 95% thing that computer can do, so I can image in the future programmer using Google Glass to programming and teacher use Google Glass to teaching and studens have class in Google Glass.

Personally, I mix it up - some I write with a focus on brevity, others I write with details, elaboration, back-story, perspective, and with a pedagogical purpose. The problem with always writing briefly is you get writers that are "skimmers", like the mad proliferation of "Top 5" and "Top 10" articles for which readers have developed an insatiable appetite. The readers as skimmers, too. They don't want the perspective, the education, the details, the intellectual discourse, the critical thinking. They want to be handed what I call "McInformation" like nuggets of artificial brain food with no real substance.
