Former Industrial Space Transformed Into Wood-Defined Loft In London | Design | News, E-learning, Architecture of the future at news.arcilook.com | Choosing Art for Interior | Scoop.it

London has been an inspiring architectural design scene to which New Zealand-born, London-based architect William Tozer recently added a fascinating conversion of an industrial space into a wood and concrete-defined contemporary loft apartment. The exposed concrete ceiling is reminiscent of the loft’s former use as an industrial factory and shelters a collection of spaces adapted to the needs of a modern lifestyle. This Loft in London provokes two design style to work together in order to shape an inspiring interior design. Books and artworks were given a special place, decorating the long hallway and occupying a space behind a sliding wood panel hiding a comfy sofa. A built-in desk and shelves compose a home office area at the end of this hallway. The kitchen, dining space and living area are part of an open space, hinting towards its industrial heritage with the help of details like the open shelves or range hoods pipework. The bedroom with en-suite bathroom carves the same minimalist industrial style, topping off the overall appearance. Overlooking the city’s skyline, a terrace wraps around two sides of the apartment, connecting the loft to its surroundings and exposing the surrounding urban environment.
