Lead vocalist

The lead vocalist or lead vocal is the member of a band who sings the main solo vocal portions of a song. The lead vocalist may also play one or more instruments, and is usually the "leader" of their group, often the spokesman in interviews and before the public. The lead vocalist is sometimes referred to as the frontman.

In certain types of music, notably soul and Motown, there is a line-up of a lead vocalist with a named group of backing vocalists (Smokey Robinson & the Miracles, Diana Ross & the Supremes, Gladys Knight & the Pips). Such line-ups can be very fluid, with both the lead vocalist and the backing group pursuing independent careers; and frequent personnel changes are not uncommon.

Some rock groups, such as The Beatles, The Libertines, Hollywood Undead, Jefferson Airplane, Eagles, Pink Floyd, The Beach Boys, KISS, Blink-182, Hüsker Dü, They Might Be Giants, The Monkees and Barenaked Ladies have or had more than one featured vocalist, making it difficult to establish a single "lead singer" or "front man."

Attila

Attila are an American deathcore band from Atlanta, Georgia, formed in 2005. They have released four full-length albums.[3][4] Their most successful album Outlawed was produced by Joey Sturgis, released on August 16, 2011 and debuted on Billboard 200 at 87 position.[5] Attila has toured across the United States with bands such as Hed PE, Arsonists Get All the Girls, See You Next Tuesday, Emmure, and Oceano.[6] The band is currently signed to Artery Recordings, a label imprint of the Razor & Tie company.

In 2012, Fronzak was featured in the In Dying Arms song "Bathed in Salt", which will appear on the band's album Boundaries set for a September 2012 release date. He will also feature in the song "Love, Sex, Riot" from Issues' upcoming debut EP Black Diamonds, which is set to be released on November 13th. Fronzak was also featured in the We Are The Blog! song "Shwash" in their EP 'Decadence'. He also featured in My City, My Secret's song "The Forefront", in their Debut EP 'Dream Being'. On October 30, Attila released a new song via iTunes, called "Party With the Devil", along with a re-recorded version of the song "Soda In The Water Cup".

Party metal rockers Chris Fronzak, Sean Heenan, Sam Halcomb, Matt Booth and Kris Wilson formed Attila in their hometown of Atlanta in 2005, meeting each other at their high school and through mutual friends. Their mutual love of music (and partying) brought the guys together to form what would eventually become the fourth imprint on the Artery Foundation/Razor & Tie joint venture, Artery Recordings.
