US auto parts supplier Johnson Controls will outsource its manufacturing of interior car parts in a merger with a subsidiary of Chinese automaker SAIC, according to a statement.

Johnson Controls will hold a 30% stake in the joint venture with Shanghai Automotive Industry Corporation which at over $7 Billion will become the largest auto interiors company in the world.  This move is likely to serve the growing Chinese market while reducing costs for US auto makers.
