A recent blog by Grant Wiggins affirmed what I have long believed about creativity: it is a 21st-century skill we can teach and assess. Creativity fosters deeper learning, builds confidence and creates a student ready for college and career.
However, many teachers don't know how to implement the teaching and assessment of creativity in their classrooms. While we may have the tools to teach and assess content, creativity is another matter, especially if we want to be intentional about teaching it as a 21st-century skill. In a PBL project, some teachers focus on just one skill, while others focus on many. Because it has color in the wheel i feel that has more of a connection with kids because they are attracted to color. As the article states " Art does not solve problems, but makes us aware of their existence." this is a great qoute because art does take you to another place of slef expression and being able to express your self and forget all the troubles in the world. Children need this as an outlet i feel.
This is a great way to show students how they are able to use lines. They would be able to see the way they are able to turn and go in different directions. This would be a great activity to do with the kids

I like what this article has to say. Creating helps make people happier, less anxious, more resilient and better equipped to problem solving in a face of hardship. Teaching children how to do art outside of the classroom can really help them with stress. I know working with children and doing something that can help their creative side flow.
