why [has] technology, to date, had very little impact on improved learning outcomes? This could be because we continue to use technology to reinforce 19th century teaching practice to meet out-dated assessment models. Most of the world’s curriculum and assessment systems are based around fact recall rather than actually demonstrating that you have learned something and can deploy it within a problem-solving situation.

"Another Brick In The Wall" - Pink Flloyd

The Planetary Archives / San Francisco, California's curator insight, November 17, 2013 3:12 PM

Our  education system is nothing more than child-care with some

indoctrination thown in.

See/hear "The Wall" by Pink Floyd  (40+ years ago.)

Let the children play until they are old enough to decide what they are interested in learning. That's completely different than training them from Day 1 to "sit still, be quiet, and obey authority." Training a 5-year old to become a "worker" or 'Businessman"  is not education, but it may be child abuse.

"You know what I love about these apps. Often I show a kid one of these apps and away they go. There is no instruction, they just go for it. These apps are good for all kids. They develop logical thinking and sequential planning. They encourage you to fail in order to develop the sequence."
