Chasing Lincoln's Killer

Chasing Lincoln's Killer | Chasing Lincoln's Killer-Independent | Scoop.it
Based on rare archival material, obscure trial manuscripts, and interviews with relatives of the conspirators and the manhunters, CHASING...
Alexcis's insight:

Summary: This book is based on a true story that follows the man who killed the nations president, Abraham Lincoln, and tried to kill Secretary of state William H. Seward and Vice President Andrew Johnson. The assassin, John Wilkes Booth was apart of a co-conspirators who originally wanted to kidnap Lincoln but just ended up killing him. The book starts in Washington,D.C and goes threw Maryland and ends at Virgina where they find John Wilkes Booth finding in a farm .

Theme:The theme of the story is that there is no getting a way from killing one of the nations best Presidents and that it wil always catch up to you. John WIlkes Booth had a good run or so he thought but the problem for him wasn't getting to the president it was getting away from everyone else.

Person Response: I personally like the book because its based on a true story in our countries history. On top of being real the story it is a fast pace thriller from the moment John Wilkes Booth assassinates Abraham Lincoln to the moment where they find him hiding in a farm in Virgina.I like the idea of knowing what really happen to one of nations greatest presidents.

Watch the full video at http://watch-documentaries-now.blogspot.com/ History Channel - Abraham Lincoln Assassination Conspiracy Visit http://watch-documentar...
Alexcis's insight:

Summary: The conspiracy that is being told in the video is that the Confederate army was behind the attack on Abraham Lincoln, instead of just being John Wilkes Booth and a group of conspirators.

Connection: The connection that the video has with my book is how it tell the story behind the assassination of president Lincoln. The way the story is told matches up with the whole video besides the conspiracy theories behind it all.

Connection: The connection is not hard to pick up for the website talks about the death of John F. Kennedy and not direcly about Abraham Lincoln  but about the nations presidents that we have lost.

Connection: This Map is connected to my story because Abraham Lincoln was assasinated due to the war not directly because it wasn't planned by the Confederate army but by John Wilkes Booth.

The Notorious Benedict Arnold

The Notorious Benedict Arnold | Chasing Lincoln's Killer-Independent | Scoop.it

Most people know that Benedict Arnold was America’s first, most notorious traitor. Few know that he was also one of its greatest war hero of all time...

Alexcis's insight:

Summary:This book is about Benedict Arnold a Traitor to America but at one point he was a war hero. This story tells us about his early life as a war hero and how how he fought so bravely for the rebellion againts the Britsh early in the Revolution. It tells the reasons of why Benedict Arnold ended up betraying his own country.

Connection: The Notorious Benedict Arnold relates to my story because it has a similar story of a man who ended up betraying there country the way Benedict Arnold did was by planning to surrender a fort to the British in the American Revolutionary war.
