An Appeal Letter Makeover: From “Organization-Centered” to “Donor-Centered” - Fired-Up Fundraising | Gail Perry Associates

An Appeal Letter Makeover: From “Organization-Centered” to “Donor-Centered” - Fired-Up Fundraising | Gail Perry Associates | Charity Fundraising | Scoop.it
Here’s a great lesson on how to convert an appeal letter from organization-centered over to donor-centered. When we actually sit down to write a letter,  our natural inclination is to remind our donor how …

Canada Post Will Still Deliver Partially Eaten Rice Krispie Squares | Agents of Good

Heather Card's insight:

I like the idea of making your donor thank-you letters shine. I think it is tough to do. In fact, the postage stamp is probably the least expensive part.

Creating a unique thank-you letter means understanding what matters to the person receiving your note. Form letters, though economical and creatively written, often leave me feeling the opposite of what the charity intended. A personal note, email, or Facebook post, that would make me feel like we were in this together.

Your donor database is a living, breathing ecosystem. Contained within are thousands of individual needs, expectations and passions. Here's how to clean it up for the new year.

You want your website to work on mobile phones and tablets. You know your email will look different based on the reader’s device and preferences. But that’s not all there is to mobile marketing. Have you thought about text messaging?
Heather Card's insight:

One aspect of text to give campaigns is that there is a certain fixed cost to participate on the part of the charity. In Canada, this is done through the Mobile Giving Foundation.( http://www.mobilegiving.ca/?page_id=42 )
