Expand the Evidence Base at the Bottom of the Pyramid - The Practitioner Hub

If we want to differentiate between responsible capitalism and business as usual in market based approaches to international development we need to expand the evidence base at the bottom of the pyramid.


This was one of the conclusions drawn by seven panelists from the world of business, management and development policy who participated in an Oxford University debate on May 3rd about the merits and risks of the Bottom of the Pyramid approach, chaired by Simon Maxwell.

Le rapport anti-corruption publié par la Commission européenne en février dernier a montré que la corruption était un problème persistant parmi les 28 Etats membres de l’Union européenne et qu’une action urgente était nécessaire.


Tout au long de la prochaine législature du Parlement européen (2014-2019), notre parti, EUROPE ECOLOGIE, s’engage à combattre la corruption et à promouvoir la transparence, la redevabilité (capacité à rendre des comptes) et l’intégrité au sein des institutions, des politiques et des réglementations.

Plus spécifiquement, nous nous assurerons que nos eurodéputés travaillent de concert avec la société civile et d’autres pour atteindre les objectifs suivants :


1. La gouvernance et le processus législatif des institutions européennes deviendront un modèle de transparence, de redevabilité et d’intégrité, instaurant ainsi les plus hauts standards en la matière. Nous nous engageons à faire respecter la lettre et l’esprit du Code de Conduite du Parlement européen et à publier une « empreinte législative» dans chaque rapport dont nos eurodéputés auront la charge de rédiger durant leur mandat. 


2. L’Union européenne garantira l’intégrité et la transparence des dépenses publiques. Elle s’assurera que toutes les informations sur les fonds européens soient rendues publiques de manière accessible et utile à tous les citoyens, par exemple en se conformant aux principes de l’ouverture des données publiques (open data). Les règles relatives aux marchés publics tiendront compte des principes de contrat ouvert (open contracting) et prévoiront des procédures efficaces pour prévenir les conflits d’intérêts. Ceci s’appliquera tant aux dépenses des institutions européennes que de celles des pays membres.


3. L’Union européenne encouragera les initiatives et une législation en faveur d’une protection efficace des lanceurs d’alerte dans les secteurs publics, privé et non lucratif.
