Could be interesting idea for raising students' awareness in politeness registers and discussing things that raise (or lower) the politeness level,, but not convinced it would work well as a tool for writing politely.

This might be worth investigating as a quick formative assessment tool in the classroom. Don't forget to check the usage agreement first, though, to make sure students are able to legally register for Twitter.

Interesting free tool that could help with section 508 compliance. Only the paid versions of the program have the "natural" voices.

I think the fact that they went for a professional 'real human' voice on their video says a lot for the product. When the manufacturer won't use it themselves you have to realise that it's not quite there yet.
