Large, high-intensity fire events in southern California shrublands: debunking the fine-grain age patch model

ssj8651's insight:

Use for:

Locations (distribution) & Examples

Limiting Factors

Issues facing this biome (Human and/or natural)

Importance to Humans

Addition information (unique characteristics, etc.)

Current because it was published in 2009.
Relevant because it is talking about the suppression of fire has a negative toll because it
alters natural fuel structure, in the California Chaparral.

Accurate because it has a hypothesis that has been investigated by several others and
has over two pages of works cited.
Authority is credible because the Ecological Society of America published these findings.
Purpose to alert supervisors of the suppression of fire in California shrublands changes
the fuel structure, in turn affecting the rest of it’s surroundings.
