Library Penny Drive

The Friends of the Nan are organizing this year's Penny Drive fundraiser. The annual event is held every winter at the library, where a glass jar is set up at the collections desk and the public is asked to donate any spare change they may have. "It's always been a lot of fun and really successful," Chenoweth said. "The community basically just opens up their hearts and their pockets to us." Last year the penny drive helped raise over $1000, which the library used to purchase instructional DVDs for children. Chenoweth said the goal for this year was to raise $1100, with the proceeds going towards updating the library CD and music collection.
