Interesting info on kudzu here. I didn't realize kudzu had been around for so long. I thought it was post-WWII.
I'm on the leading edge of a kudzu spread in my neighborhood. The farmer across the street apparently gave up on spraying, so it keeps coming over to our side of the road. We're not spraying, just keeping it cut enough to stop the spread to the landowners on our other side. Sometimes I feel like I'm on the front lines of a war.

Sounds like a really nice way to learn about farm heritage. Kudos to Basin Electric!

LISBON, OH — "When Sue Little began researching the history of her family's farm in November she didn't realize how much of an undertaking it would be... She said it took weeks of research that consisted of eight-hour days at the county courthouse, but she was able to trace the farm history back 105 years. The hard work paid off because on Wednesday morning, Delmer Little and his family received a Century Farm award from the state."
I lucked out on all that hard work. My father-in-law did it all on my husband's behalf back in the late 80s. I have a file full of copies all ready to be handed off to the next generation. Our farm went sesqui in 2010, although South Carolina doesn't have additional recognition that I'm aware of. Like a lot of you, we're just hoping there will be something left to hand on to the next generation. Once it's gone, you can never get it back. Delete the scoop?
