Christopher Pearsall's Insight:
Not surprisingly even prominent figures in the legal field are not immune to corruption, scandal, trashy threats, embezzlement, and other unsavory tactics where there private lives are open for all to see in newspapers and tabloids when it comes to infidelity and divorce.
What is it that attracts people to these things? Why does this sell papers or garner attention from millions of people on tv and the internet? Is it purely informational purposes? Is it to provide gossip for the next party or meeting? Is it to keep abreast of what is going on in their field? Or is it because it makes them feel better?
What does it say about us that this interests us? Does it say even more about us if we share it with others? Perhaps it gives us hope that our lives are not so bad well the well-to-do or rich and famous are plummeting from their financially prestigious lofty status to look more like everyone else.
Whatever the reason, it does little to aid the legal professions image to see all of these things taking place by numerous lawyers and their spouses and associates.
Make of it what you will and decide for yourself. This one certainly is one for the record books if the details reported are correct.
