My Thoughts:

I think that this article is interesting because it gives great information on how to apply and what to do for a scholarship. I feel that this would help many people greatly on doing scholarships.

Michelle F's curator insight, April 29, 2013 2:02 AM

My thoughts:

This article really helped me understand the different kinds of scholarships out there. When applying for scholarships, I became overwhelmed with the mass amount of new jargon I was exposed to. "A Pell-Grant? What's that?" I'm thankful that there are many differnt kinds of scholarships, as not everyone is athletic or gets good grades, but that doesn't make them any less worth of a scholarship. Not to toot my own horn, but I'm a pretty outstanding writer and that's what I will rely on for schoalrships.

Duncan Bartok's curator insight, November 26, 2013 1:10 AM

This article provides a vast amount of information on scholarships and the different types of them and what skills are necessary to earn scholarships.

Prerequisites | School of Pharmacy

University of Washington School of Pharmacy...

My Thoughts:

If I eventually want to become a pharmacist I will first need to get into a pharmacy program at a major state school or university. If the University of Washingto School of Pharmacy is right for me, I will first need to take specific prerequisite courses at a different school.

Sumanpreet Kaur's insight:

I decided to also add this piece to my scoop it because I want to go the University of Washington (UW) - Seattle Campus or the University of California - San Francisco for pharmacy school. This piece is valuable because it shows me UW's pre-requisites for pharmacy school. This would be a great reference sheet.

College Scholarships.org - Helping Students Pay for College Since 1999 | CE Project - Research Log | Scoop.it

Our free guide offers resources and tips to help you find college scholarships and other finanancial aid. I found this website by going to google and typing in "college scholarships" and then I clicked on this site and it looked worth looking at because it had states that you could click on to see what scholarships they had.

Via Marissa Horning
Sumanpreet Kaur's insight:

This seems to be a good scholarship website seeing that it is a .org. I like how you can just go straight into looking for scholarships instead of having ones matched up for you. I believe that sometimes don't match you up perfectly correct with what works for you. So this is refreshing.

Pharmacy School Rankings

Which are the Top Pharmacy Schools?...

My Thoughts:

According to this, it would be best to get my pharmacy degree from one of these top schools because I will have a better chance of getting a job after I graduate. On this list of schools, the University of Washington school of pharmacy ranked number eight in the nation. This will be good for me because I can graduate with my pre pharmacy degree from Central or Western and then transfer to the University of Washington. That way I can stay in state in order to get my pharmacy degree.

pre-pharmacy.pdf

My Thoughts:

According to this, I can get into University of Washington and Washington State University pharmacy schools after taking the required courses at Western Washington University. However it also informs me that these school's pharmacy programs are really selective and require high GPA's as well as a letter of recomendation and an interview. At Western I will be taking general classes, such as biology and chemistry, for the first few years and then during my senior year I will be preparing for a pharmacy institution. A majority of the classes that I will be taking will be science related but I will be taking some classes such as Microeconomics and Written Communications.

Sumanpreet Kaur's insight:

I decided to add this to my scoop it because I researched about pharmacist. In my research I discovered in-depth details about what a pharmacist does, but not in-depth details about how to become one. This is why I chose this piece. I feel like this piece of material is valuable because it goes more in-depth about what pre-pharmacy is. I need to know this information, so that I can plan ahead and finish pre-pharmacy within two years.

sam !!'s curator insight, December 16, 2014 1:51 PM

With this option, I understand that i can take this class as well as what classes I need to take to proceed in this direction. These programs show that they are very selective, and the classes will be difficult. That there will help me decide whether I really want to go through with this or not, or whether I am qualified.
