Canada: Making the Impossible POSSIBLE--Catalyzing Innovations in Health Care | CANARIE.ca

Back in 2000, one of the health care projects CANARIE supported focused on digital mammography, and involved Sunnybrook Hospital in Toronto, l’Université de Montréal in Quebec, and the University of Pennsylvania. Project partners used the CANARIE network to share breast screens in an effort to link pathologic conditions and uncover environmental causes of breast cancer.

More recently, CANARIE has supported the development of advanced research platforms that leverage the CANARIE network to enable Canadians to lead truly groundbreaking innovations in health care and medical research, and extended its reach to support medical research at some of Canada’s most esteemed institutions.
