Spearheaded by ILA's Literacy Research Panel, this series is designed to support CCSS implementation. Every unit has been authored by a teacher–researcher team with one goal in mind: bridge research and practice for high engagement and rich student learning. Assessments have been included for each week’s teaching and learning activities, in addition to an idea for a culminating project.
The Toolkit includes videos and supplemental materials to help teachers write and select well-designed assessments. The Toolkit includes 13 “modules” divided into four parts: (1) key concepts, (2) five elements of assessment design, (3) writing and selecting assessments and (4) reflecting on assessment design. The modules address how to plan, write and select well-designed assessments. The modules do not cover how to use assessments to measure student growth.
We are 30 plus award-winning children's nonfiction authors who have teamed up to offer you and your students a gift. Our concept is to post a new one-to-two-minute long nonfiction story each day of the school year. The postings will contain graphics when relevant, and each will include an audio of the author reading his or her Minute aloud.
