SEO And Social Media Get Married

SEO And Social Media Get Married | Cars all over the world | Scoop.it

There is a lot of talk around the web these days about the convergence of Social Media and SEO, but I feel like what has happened with social and search is more like a marriage, and they skipped the engagement period altogether.

It is merely a convergence of technology and methodology.

Via Antonino Militello
Ashok Padhye's insight:

I disagree with this opinion. While it is true that social signals continue to gain importance in search, Social Media goes far beyond search.Social Media is about conversations and group interactions on the personals side and brand building and reputation management on the business side. As platforms like Facebook, Google+ and Pinterest continue to evolve, they would continue giving even more 'social' functionality. Search signals are only a side benefit of increased social engagement. Those who are looking at social engagement purely for benefits in search need to understand the basis of social media better.

Well, that's just my opinion. But would like to hear if you agree / disagree.

The Hottest Car Brands? You Might Be Surprised

The Hottest Car Brands? You Might Be Surprised | Cars all over the world | Scoop.it
Click to see a slideshow of the cars with the largest price pops – and drops It’s been a good year for most automakers, with sales up about 8% so far and most car companies reporting handsome profits.
Ashok Padhye's insight:

This is an interesting take on 'hotness' of brands - and this is certainly the way a finance person will look at it. It is good to see LR and Jaguar turning hot. The investments done by Tata Motors are paying off. Now only if they make similar investments in India - their home market - and regain the top 3 slot they enjoyed for a long time. Dodge losing its appeal is sad to see. And they have already stopped selling Dodge and Chrysler in France. It will be sad if they plan to sunset this brand. Viper has been my favorite muscle car for a long time, but one must assume Fiat knows what they are doing.

Chief Designer Says Concept Coupe Captures “Essence” of Volvo’s Past and Future

Chief Designer Says Concept Coupe Captures “Essence” of Volvo’s Past and Future | Cars all over the world | Scoop.it
Volvo turned to its past to find the "essence" of its future designs. But while it draws from the classic P1800 sports coupe, the Volvo Coupe Concept debuting at the Frankfurt Motor Show is anything but a retro-mobile.
Ashok Padhye's insight:

Come on - you got to be kidding me. Volvo's  "Essence" is sturdy family cars. They are good at it. The markets of the future are BRIC countries where people will look for family cars for at least a few years to come. Volvo should focus on making their family cars fuel efficient and affordable in these countries if they really want to have a future.

Capgemini Consulting: Cars Online

Capgemini Consulting: Cars Online | Cars all over the world | Scoop.it
Consumers expect their new cars to have all the technology they’re used to everywhere else in their lives — applications for work and recreation, delivered through dashboards that belong to the family of desktops, laptops, tablets, and smartphones.
Ashok Padhye's insight:

Looks like people in BRIC are far more gung-ho on connected car services than those is US or Europe - but since the major growth in new car sales is now coming from BRC (India has been in a deep slide but is expected to bottom out soon), this is great news for car makers and technology companies. I believe there will be a mini-boom of technology start-ups providing connected car technology and services over the next 3 years and then a slew of buyouts by auto majors to corner patents.

Vehicle Fuel Efficiency Reaches a High, Nearing Goal for 2016

Vehicle Fuel Efficiency Reaches a High, Nearing Goal for 2016 | Cars all over the world | Scoop.it
The average fuel economy of new vehicles sold in the United States was 24.9 miles per gallon in August, the highest since 2007, according to a University of Michigan study.
Ashok Padhye's insight:

This is good news. This is happening because of the clear consumer preference for fuel efficiency. What can the US government do to keep the industry on track? Keep on creating threat scenarios in the Middle-East to keep gasoline prices high - thus pushing consumers more towards more fuel efficient cars - just kidding.
