The demand for carpenters is expected to grow. Construction jobs will open because people are eventually going to want new houses creating more jobs for carpenters. Some firms also want old buildings to look new. Although carpenters are getting new jobs, they are also using materials that make them work faster, so less carpenters are needed.

When you are building something it all depends on the economy. When the economy is doing not so great, that means that there are not a lot of jobs for carpenters. New and improved tools make jobs for carpenters more flexible.
