There seems to be a huge fad for this "alkaline foods" nonsense, as if  the somewhat arbitrary acid/alkaline clasiffication had the slightest resemblance to reality, let alone health.

Limes, lemons and tomatoes are alkaline? Cayenne pepper is a vegetable? Fish is bad for you? 

Fuckwits. Just another braindead fad diet.

Yes, homeopathy - a.k.a. pure water - can help with constipation. If, of course, it's because you tend to be dehydrated: senior citizens, nursing mothers, that sort of thing.

Otherwise, everyday constipation can be mostly avoided by:

- Eating less meat and more fresh fruit and vegetables

- Eating fewer refined/processed foods

- Laying off the fatty foods

- Drinking less booze and sugary beverages, more fruit juice and (above all) water

If it still isn't happening for you, see a doctor. Not, and this is *important*, a homeopath, self-styled nutritionist, chiropractor, herbalist, acupuncturist or any other variant of the magical mystery cure scam.

Seriously, this is worth a read. None of your insanity-based rants about how chiropractic cures everything, including stuff you didn't know you had, but a good basis for debate about knowing your limitations and other people's capabilities.

Vaccinating my children against potentially fatal, disabling and/or disfiguring diseases was probably the *easiest* decision I ever had to make as a parent. I only regret the chickenpox jab was not then available; it would have saved my younger daughter from a horrific shingles episode from which she still bears the scars.

Anyone who says vaccination is dangerous and the diseases are trivial is either supremely ignorant or terminally stupid.
