Canon EOS-1D X has multiple trigger options for video

Canon EOS-1D X has multiple trigger options for video | "Cameras, Camcorders, Pictures, HDR, Gadgets, Films, Movies, Landscapes" | Scoop.it

I’ve just had it confirmed by a source at Canon that the EOS-1D X offers a solution to one of the biggest DSLR video headaches – video triggering. Previous Canon DSLR cameras had no wired remote trigger function – relying instead on Infrared triggers, a USB remote follow focus like the Okii, or Heath Robinson style contraptions that put an old school cable release onto the video trigger or Set button.

The question of whether there is an emerging artistic movement in the Arab world, or whether the elite of the diaspora have simply become better at competing on the international exhibition circuit was a central concern of the various round-table discussions held alongside the galleries in the Es Saadi complex.

Zeiss Distagon T* 21mm f/2.8 ZF (DX) Review

Zeiss Distagon T* 21mm f/2.8 ZF (DX) Review | "Cameras, Camcorders, Pictures, HDR, Gadgets, Films, Movies, Landscapes" | Scoop.it

"The 21 mm Distagon is not a newcomer but a lens with a history dating back to the Contax C/Y era. The lens was one of the latest additions to the system (discontinued just after the Millennium). Soon after its release the news spread that this lens is something special - user comments and reviews suggested that it was the best mass production ultra-wide lens ever produced. Due to the rather mediocre alternatives in the EOS land some Canon users were even desperate enough to use it via adapters on their EOS cameras ... and to pay more for it over at ebay than its original MSRP. At the peak of this crazy hype it was almost more an investment rather than a purchase.
Well, these times are over because Zeiss did eventually listen and the lens is available again for Canon (ZE) and Nikon (ZF, ZF.2) cameras. There also was a K-mount version for Pentax cameras (ZK), however Zeiss decided to discontinue the ZK-line in 2010.

The new Distagon is not 100% identical to the original design. According to Zeiss it has been modernized with respect to flare and environment-friendly glass and the optical design has also been altered slightly. This price has not changed though - at around 1500EUR/US$ it is still not exactly a cheap item.

The Distagon is a full frame lens (all ZF lenses are), however in this review we'll have a look at how the lens performs on our current DX test camera, the Nikon D7000, where it resembles a moderate wide angle lens."

Canon EOS-1D X: Digital Photography Review

Canon EOS-1D X: Digital Photography Review | "Cameras, Camcorders, Pictures, HDR, Gadgets, Films, Movies, Landscapes" | Scoop.it

The Canon EOS-1D X is the company's flagship professional DSLR (2011). The 18MP camera is built around a full-frame sensor capable of shooting at up to 14 frames per second (12fps with AF), allowing it to replace both the 1D Mark IV and 1DS Mark III in Canon's lineup. Despite looking like previous 1D cameras, it's been extensively reworked and includes more professional video features than any other Canon DSLR.

World War II: The Holocaust

World War II: The Holocaust | "Cameras, Camcorders, Pictures, HDR, Gadgets, Films, Movies, Landscapes" | Scoop.it

"One of the most horrific terms in history was used by Nazi Germany to designate human beings whose lives were unimportant, or those who should be killed outright: Lebensunwertes Leben, or "life unworthy of life". First applied to the mentally impaired, later to the "racially inferior", or "sexually deviant", or merely "enemies of the state" both internal and external. From very early in the war, part of Nazi policy was to murder civilians en masse, especially targeting Jews -- which later in the war became Hitler's "final solution", the complete extermination of the Jews. Beginning with Einsatzgruppen death squads in the East, killing some 1,000,000 people in numerous massacres, later in concentration camps where prisoners were actively denied proper food and health care, and ending with the construction of extermination camps -- government facilities whose entire purpose was the systematic murder and disposal of massive numbers of people. In 1945, as advancing Allied troops began discovering many camps, they found the results of these policies: hundreds of thousands of starving and sick prisoners locked in with more thousands of dead bodies. Evidence of gas chambers, high-volume crematoriums, thousands of mass graves, documentation of awful medical experimentation, and much more. The Nazis killed more than 10 million people in this manner, including 6 million Jews. (This entry is Part 18 of a weekly 20-part retrospective of World War II)

Warning: All images in this entry are shown in full, not screened out for graphic content. There are many dead bodies. The photographs are graphic and stark. This is the reality of genocide, and of an important part of World War II and human history."

A simple day in the life...

A simple day in the life... | "Cameras, Camcorders, Pictures, HDR, Gadgets, Films, Movies, Landscapes" | Scoop.it

"Often in the Big Picture we feature "slice of life" photography originating from around the world, brought to us by photographers based in those countries who work for the Associated Press, Reuters and Getty Images. The photographs are often simple and show daily life in many places that we might not be able to experience in any other way except through those photographers' documentation. The images themselves are somewhat universal - they show us where people live and how people live, sometimes not so differently than we do ourselves."

I found the click noise is from the stick when it moved (no other moveable things here). Near the stick is a MIC. The distance between the stick and the MIC is so short, and the noise must be recorded by MIC. I guess this is the truth of the issue. What you think?"
