Arizona House budget up by $58 million | Arizona Daily Sun

School district charters will get $33 million for one year but Child Welfare stays at the Senate level. The package hammered out after days of closed-door negotiations sets spending for the coming year at $9.24 billion. That is about $58 million more than what the Republican-controlled Senate approved just last week.

Letter to the Editor, Kennedy | Tri-Valley Dispatch (Casa Grande AZ)

As the manager of a local feedlot, I know what it is like to work hard and still not get the results you want. The same can be said for many things in life, including the state budget process. This year farmers, ranchers and many residents of rural Arizona were hoping the state Legislature would provide the necessary funding to get a veterinary program started at the University of Arizona as well as restore Cooperative Extension funding to what it was before the recession. Well, we got some of what we wanted.
