Guests will get the chance to learn about tree rings, Big Foot and more during four days of graduate student-hosted events this week.

EarthWeek, which is being held on campus this week, is being hosted by the School of Earth and Environmental Sciences for the fifth year in a row.

The events, organized entirely by graduate students, feature oral presentations, poster sessions and a keynote speaker.

UA mulls options after budget leaves vet school hanging | Arizona Daily Sun

Plans to create a veterinary school at the University of Arizona have hit a roadblock as state lawmakers approved just enough money to tease the idea but not enough to actually make it happen. The budget plan enacted late Thursday by the House of Representatives adds $2.5 million to the university’s base budget. Rep. Ethan Orr, R-Tucson, said while those dollars are not earmarked, the intent is to finance the new program.

House Republicans continued Tuesday afternoon efforts to resolve their disagreements over the Senate's proposed budget. Rep. Ethan Orr, R-Tucson, sought $4.2 million to help the University of Arizona establish a veterinary school. Rep. Jeff Dial, R-Chandler, wanted an amendment requiring law enforcement to put at least one officer in every school.

he University Of Arizona Equestrian Team is going to Nationals! The U of A Equestrian Team competes with the  Intercollegiate Horse Show Association.  IHSA is an organization that encompasses 37 Regions in 8 Zones with almost 400 member colleges in 45 states and Canada – representing more than 9000 riders in both Hunter Seat Equitation, Western Horsemanship, and Reining. In 1999 the original organization was dissolved and IHSA Inc was incorporated as a non-profit organization.
