Deidra Monika,January 24, 2014 - Hollywood, CA - "The Difference Between Sinking and Drowning," a new contemporary dance choreographed by Talia Favia will make its Hollywood debut on Saturday, April 5, 2014 at 7:30pm at the Montalbán Theatre.

According to Favia, a national, award-winning choreographer, contemporary dance performer and visionary, the contemporary dance show "The Difference Between Sinking & Drowning" is more than a contemporary dance show. It's also an invitation into her mind, body and soul. The audience is invited to watch as she recreates one of her most vulnerable states thus far in her amazing journey through life. Last spring, Talia and her dancers presented the first live performance of this work in her home state of Arizona.

"The Difference Between Sinking and Drowning," says Favia, was born from a very personal dream to have my show be relatable to anyone, not just dancers."

Only 22 years old, this up-and-coming choreographer states, "This is the first installment in a series of 'journeys.' I already hope to put more of my experiences on stage." Talia is based in Los Angeles and spends the majority of her time traveling throughout the US and abroad while teaching and setting pieces.

Favia has had the opportunity to work with some of the top leaders in the entertainment industry while working behind-the-scenes on So You Think You Can Dance in both the United States and Canada. Having recently returned from Russia, Talia enjoys teaching in countries in which there are language barriers, because, according to Favia, this is when the beauty of dance is born.
