Anyone who knows me knows that I love telling stories. (Usually more than once.) The above excerpt essentially describes every single day of my life. Sharing life experiences with people who mean something to me is what makes these experiences that much more exciting. Read below, as Karen Dietz sums up my thoughts way better than I ever could. Thanks Karen and Gregg! Delete the scoop?

Wow! What an interesting post. I learned long ago as a probation officer in Texas, I could send someone to prison on the same set of facts depending on the language I used. This is one of the best articles I've ever read on the topic.

Social Business Development requires the acceptance of two nontraditional concepts. Both require ‘doing business’ on the customers terms rather than your own. The first is that it's an organic process that starts without knowing exactly where it will go or how it will end up. It is not a ‘single product’ that is completed before it begins. Secondly, it's a continuous process of change that molds and refines it’s content and goals after listening to your audience on a ‘real-time’ basis. It is not sending messages that originate with you.

GE is providing is a great example of how to do content marketing with stories -- and doing it in such a way that the stories they share about others are front and center. That means GE is promoting itself in soft ways by not screaming at people, "Here's what we are doing for you today!" I love it. These are great stories and because GE is attached to them, they reap the rewards. So what does this mean for you? Well, if you are an enteprise, the articles has great stats on how much GE has devoted to the campaign and how it's worked for them. For a small business, the lesson is all about sharing the stories of how your customers are heros (not you), and that creating content with these stories is a real winner for your businss. I also really like how this article also shares the steps to success in sharing someone else's story. The medium GE is using is digital storytelling. But the same tips apply to any business of any size. And besides, it's Friday and the GE films are inpsiring. Follow the "Focus Forward" link to view them. Very interesting post, as David Hains and Denyse Drummond-Dunn say for diagnostic purposes, but also for presenting the process to the "unaware" companies, so that they can see the value, and benefits of implementing collaborative cultures in the business industry.

Remembering someone's name when you meet them is as much a part of marketing as anything else (a first step in the know, like, trust factor)! I must say, I am terribly guilty of forgetting names and I've been embarrased a time or two because of it.
This article provides excellent steps on ways to remember someone's name. I think the most important ones are repeating the name, and visualization of something memorable.
I once heard a memory expert state that our brains remember pictures. So, associate that name with a picture (a memorable picture) and it is more easily recalled. I can tell you, this takes practice! But, it works. I know because I am practicing it!
I hope this helps you as well!

Forgetting the name of a client, employee, business associate or supplier, can cause a business owner a substantial loss of credibility, as well as having the potential to undermine the existing relationship.
