5 Good iPad Apps to Gather Students Feedback ~ Educational Technology and Mobile Learning

5 Good iPad Apps to Gather Students Feedback ~ Educational Technology and Mobile Learning | BYOD & Related Stuff | Scoop.it
A few weeks ago we published a list of  8 web tools teachers can use to formatively assess students. As you know, formative assessment consists of mini-quizzes and short tests geared towards gathering feedback about students learning. Teachers usually draw on insights gleaned from these assessments to inform their teaching and identify  opportunities for  further instruction.

For those of you who have already integrated iPad in their instruction, the apps below are worth considering. You can use them in class to gather feedback, run quick formative assessments, initiate instant question polls and many more. Most of these apps are also available for Android users.

Turn iPad Art into Joyous 3D Figures with the Foldify App

Turn iPad Art into Joyous 3D Figures with the Foldify App | BYOD & Related Stuff | Scoop.it

"It’s a beautiful thing when students can use digital tools to build real world creations. While 3D printing is still a little on the expensive side, the Foldify app does an amazing job allowing students to create their own three dimensional paper masterpieces. Using the app, students can choose different paper templates, paint them digitally, model them in 3D, then print for assembly in the real world. It really is a delightfully fun, creative and rewarding experience."

App of the Week: Post-it Plus brings Post-it notes into the digital age - GeekWire

App of the Week: Post-it Plus brings Post-it notes into the digital age - GeekWire | BYOD & Related Stuff | Scoop.it

"As someone who writes fiction for fun in my off hours, Post-it notes have been an integral part of my writing process. At some point in a story’s development, I usually end up covering a wall somewhere with a series of multi-colored notes that looks like something out of a crime procedural murder investigation.

The downside to all that is it’s hard to take all of the structure I put up on the wall and translate it into a digital format that travels with me while I’m using other tools to write the story itself. That’s why 3M created Post-it Plus, an app that allows people to use their iPhone and iPad to scan and digitize groups of sticky notes all in one fell swoop.

Users just open up the app, tap on the camera button,

Users just open up the app, tap on the camera button, and line it up with a group of notes. Once they take a snapshot, the app will separate out each discrete note from the image and save them all on a virtual board with the same layout that they had in meatspace."
