Teacher’s Trial by Tech – 1:1 Programme

Teacher’s Trial by Tech – 1:1 Programme | BYOD iPads | Scoop.it

"Alongside the implementation of iPad use in PE and the 'flipped' A Level class a wider school project is gathering pace. As a school we are trialling a year 7 class of 30 students with iPad2 and an optional sign up for staff. The staff trial will last 6 weeks, before the students are given a device for the summer term. The hope is that this will allow us to identify key issues with pedagogy and staff development alongside concerns with our wireless network."

Programmable Pedagogy: Reconfiguring the Future of Learning | DMLcentral

Programmable Pedagogy: Reconfiguring the Future of Learning | DMLcentral | BYOD iPads | Scoop.it

What is “pedagogy” and what does it do? In the digital age, the future of education is being redefined in relation to new technologies and digital media, and we are having to rethink what we understand by pedagogy and its possible effects on learners. What kinds of pedagogies, then, are being configured in discussions about the future of education, and how might they configure the future learner?

Mark Anderson's Blog » The iPad & Critical Pedagogy

Mark Anderson's Blog » The iPad & Critical Pedagogy | BYOD iPads | Scoop.it

"I’ll go ahead and say it – I think the discussion on the iPad and Pedagogy needs to go further. Too many posts (and I am guilty of this too) focus on, “check out this cool app”, or “did you know the iPad can do this”; you’ve all seen them. I really feel we are past the time where we should be looking at the functionality of the iPad as a device and be looking at it in a way which ensures we are looking more at how learning can be redefined and modified through the use of the iPad."

The TPACK Game – T | Dr Matthew J. Koehler

The TPACK Game – T | Dr Matthew J. Koehler | BYOD iPads | Scoop.it
Given a random content area to teach, and pedagogical approach, figure out a technology and an activity to combine...

Matthew Koehler has come up with a unique way to discuss how content, tech, and pedagogy are always connected.  To play the game just write in the comment area below on what tech you would use in conjunction with this content (reading comprehension) and this pedagogy (collaboration).  To my mind the obvious fill in the blank is to use twitter.  Activity?  Write a tweet that sums up the first paragraph of an article in the New York Times making sure to use the designated class hashtag.
