Education on the computer model: faster, more efficient, customized

Education on the computer model: faster, more efficient, customized | BYOD iPads | Scoop.it

"Technology brings additional information on learning styles and helps assess rapidly what has been retained, allowing lectures to be adapted to students’ needs and to be made more meaningful. Classes can combine Internet connections, Skyped conversation, video-teleconference and satellite hookups with videos and segments of Massive Open Online Courses (MOOCs) produced around the world. Students can benefit from international online discussion groups. All of this enriches the learning experience and represents considerable up-front investment with intensive labour commitments from faculty and technical support."

Love the idea of MOOCS for our students.  I see it happening to a smaller degree on social networks, but I am sure peer groups teaching others in online learning are the way to go.  Now 3D printers I have not used...yet!

DNA of a 21st Century Educator Simplified!

During your lifetime you have probably experienced inspirational educators, or witnessed inspiring lectures. But, what about you? Are you such an educator? If not, why not? In this talk, I [Zaid Alsagoff] explored some of the ingredients top educators in the 21st century have, and how we can learn from them to reinvent ourselves to reach our true potential as an educator. This talk was given on the 9 February (2013) at Jazan University (Saudi Arabia).

6 Things Teachers Do to Flip the Classroom

6 Things Teachers Do to Flip the Classroom | BYOD iPads | Scoop.it

Get 6 Real World Examples of a Flipped Classroom from Subject Experts.

The Flipped Classroom model is changing the ways students learn and teachers teach. When you flip your classroom, you offer your students rich, engaging material to consider at home, and you use class time to help them interact with the ideas. Lecturing during class time is minimized and students have a teacher nearby when they are doing work and most likely to need guidance.

Marilyn Korhonen's curator insight, May 31, 11:11 AM
The key to "flipped" is to rethink who has control of content and learning. These are some great tactics to help move instruction toward more student-led learning.
