R. Allen Haywood told WMAZ's Portia Lake the challenge was upheld by Judge Joe Helton, of Dublin, in a court hearing. He said the decision was based on an incident in his 20s in Alabama.

He would not comment on the specific charges.

He said he had his rights restored, but he did not have the pardon from the state, which disqualified him from the election. Haywood said though he is disappointed, he will continue to remain active in the community.

"You Are More Than 7 Times As Likely To Be Killed By A Right-Wing Terrorist Than By ISIS" | U.S. Uncut | 11/30/15 | FDW's Daily Scoops | Scoop.it

A new study by UNC and Duke University reveals the real terror threat.  US citizens are far more likely to die from the actions of a right-wing terrorist on U.S. soil than virtually any other group, even the highly hyped and dreaded international boogeyman known as the Islamic State.

UNC Professor Charles Kurzman and David Schanzer of Duke University stated in the New York Times last June that terror attacks by Islamic groups only “accounted for 50 fatalities over the past 13 and a half years,” as compared to American right-wing extremists who have “averaged 337 attacks per year in the decade after 9/11, causing a total of 254 fatalities.”

"Forget Syria. The Most Dangerous Migrants Are From North Carolina." | Slate | 11/30/15 | FDW's Daily Scoops | Scoop.it
Another terrorist attack. Another grim tally of the dead and wounded. Another killer full of hate, from a land that breeds such men. Like millions of migrants before him, the perpetrator crossed the border unchallenged. And like others, he struck our country without warning.
Franklin Delano Williams's insight:

QUOTE FROM ARTICLE: "Our politicians say they’ll stop these killers. They talk about building walls and vetting refugees. If we were serious, we would do it. We would seal our borders against North Carolina.

North Carolina? It sounds absurd. When we think about immigration and terrorism, we think of Syria. But that’s not where our casualties are coming from. On Friday, a gunman killed three people and wounded nine more at a Planned Parenthood clinic in Colorado. The suspect is white American Robert Lewis Dear. When police apprehended Dear, he uttered one telltale phrase: “no more baby parts.” People who have known or met Dear say he wasn’t a regular churchgoer. But they also report that he believed devoutly in the Bible and that he claimed to have read it “cover to cover.” In an online forum, Dear apparently spoke of Jesus and the “end times.” He painted or posted crosses on at least three of his homes."

"Bernie Sanders Is Almost Totally A Creation Of The Wealth He Disdains" | Forbes Opinion | 11/29/15 | FDW's Daily Scoops | Scoop.it

"Gandhi’s somewhat faux poverty came to mind amid a recent campaign stop for Bernie Sanders at Georgetown University.  Full of the well-to-do and well educated, it’s no surprise that the Democratic presidential hopeful would find willing listeners at a school largely defined by a lack of want within its student body.

More broadly, it would be interesting to learn the educational attainments and income of the average Sanders partisan, or better yet, average Sanders donor.  Odds are they don’t hail from the “working families” or “sick and poor” classes that Sanders claims to represent.

Instead, Sanders embodies the hopes and dreams of people like Livia Matteucci, a Georgetown student who is majoring in psychology.  As USA Today reported about Matteucci, “she and other Georgetown students support ideas such as paid family leave and a higher minimum wage” energetically promoted by Sanders. How very fitting...."

In the shadow of terror attacks in Paris and Bamako, Mali, with the world closer to a widening war thanks to Turkey’s shooting down a Russian warplane, it’s hard to approach a holiday like Thanksgiving. Historian: The Koran Is NOT More Violent Than The Bible. Christians Have 'Holy Amnesia' | Liberal America | 11/22/15 | FDW's Daily Scoops | Scoop.it
Is the Koran really more violent than the Bible? According to religious historians, it most certainly isn't.
Franklin Delano Williams's insight:
What Do The Experts Say?

Penn State professor Philip Jenkins has written several books on religious history, and he studies the historical background of Christianity. He has used his extensive research and knowledge to compare the Bible to the Koran. And what he found will no doubt piss off a whole lot of Bible thumping sanctimonious jerks. Here’s what Professor Jenkins had to say:

“By the standards of the time, which is the 7th century A.D., the laws of war that are laid down by the Quran are actually reasonably humane. Then we turn to the Bible, and we actually find something that is for many people a real surprise. There is a specific kind of warfare laid down in the Bible which we can only call genocide.

It is called herem, and it means total annihilation. Consider the Book of 1 Samuel, when God instructs King Saul to attack the Amalekites: ‘And utterly destroy all that they have, and do not spare them,’ God says through the prophet Samuel. ‘But kill both man and woman, infant and nursing child, ox and sheep, camel and donkey.'”

Saul failed to obey God’s instructions and his kingdom was taken from him. Professor Jenkins notes:

“In other words. Saul has committed a dreadful sin by failing to complete genocide.”

In addition to the swastika incident that occurred in October, which Wolfe attempted to minimize, white students in a pickup trucked yelled “nigger” repeatedly at the Missouri Students Association president in September. Wolfe did not issue a response until one week later, after students protested on campus. Shortly after, a group of black students were rehearsing for a play when white students called them the same derogatory name.
