Curate and Monetize Your Best Audio and Video Contents with Pivotshare

Curate and Monetize Your Best Audio and Video Contents with Pivotshare | Buzz on Bizz | Scoop.it

Robin Good: Pivotshare is a web platform which allows you to create a branded web site where you can curate, promote and sell your best digital media video and audio files.

The service accepts .mp4, .mov, .avi and .mp3 files for upload and it lets you set the price and the business model (subscription or pay-per-view or a combination of both) that you want to use.

On Pivotshare you can brand your channel with your logo and customize its look and feel, and you can also "bookmark" specific "spots" inside your audio and video content.

Content on PIvotshare is accessible by both desktop computers as well by smartphone and tablet devices and it has the ability to memorize, for the user, where a sesson is left, so that it can be picked up next time he logs in.

You can set up some of your content to be free and some of it to be accessible only by paying for it. Each channel can be fueled by more than a contributor and you are free to decide who will team up with you.

There are two delivery formats available to curate and organize your key assets: a) the Showcase (ideal for ten items or less) and b) the Library (for collections of 50 or more items).

Revenue-wise Pivotshare takes 30% from a Channel’s revenue, and passes the rest to the Editor and Contributors of that Channel.

To use the service there is no upfront cost.

Even if we think of the slow job growth as the "new normal", the upper graph still points to a disturbing picture of all the jobs lost from 2008, where the E-P ratio decreased from an average 63% down to around 58.5%.

Cooperation Beats Competition

Cooperation Beats Competition | Buzz on Bizz | Scoop.it

As a business owner or manager you have probably spent most of your business life battling the competition, winning some and loosing some, as you have kept your business viable and profitable.

Like many, you have probably found these battles to have become tougher and more frequent in recent years, as the business world continues to evolve and change, and new ways of doing business start to severely impact on the old ways.

This excellent and thought provoking artice, suggests that it is probably time that business owners started to evolve their business model to focus more on co-operation than constant competition, and it offers examples to show that adopting a more co-operative culture can pay dividends for your business.

Samsung Pays Apple $1 Billion Sending 30 Trucks Full of 5 Cents Coins

August 29, 2012 11 Comments

The scuffle between Apple and Samsung continues. This morning more than 30 trucks filled with 5-cent coins arrived at Apple’s headquarters in California. Initially, the security company that protects the facility said the trucks were in the wrong place, but minutes later, Tim Cook (Apple CEO) received a call from Samsung CEO explaining that they will pay $1 billion dollars for the fine recently ruled against the South Korean company in this way.

The funny part is that the signed document does not specify a single payment method, so Samsung is entitled to send the creators of the iPhone their billion dollars in the way they deem best.

Twee startups in 30 dagen

Twee startups in 30 dagen | Buzz on Bizz | Scoop.it

Take away :

Don’t take advice from Experts and follow your instincts (Experts are clueless) Design matters the most. Help customers, they don’t know what they need. Use Big fonts for presentations “Work” or “doesn’t work” is all that matters Offer unique and valuable product, price doesn’t matter. players hire A/A+ players, B players hire C players, C players hire D players”, so hire the best people, or face “the bozo explosion”. IT guys typically undervalue the need for great peers (Finance/Ops/Marketing). Real CEOs can demo their product. Start shipping instead of waiting for perfection, you can always iterate and make your product better.

Email Marketing vs Social Media Marketing

Email Marketing vs Social Media Marketing | Buzz on Bizz | Scoop.it

According to a Report produced by Royal Pingdom, Internet 2011 in numbers, there were more than 2.2bn email users in 2011 and 3.4bn email accounts, this figure growing by 500m. According to Radicati, this number is expected to grow to 4.1bn by the end of 2015.

There is always a tendency when new technologies come along to throw out the old in favour of the new. Email is often seen as out of date and its value diminished by the exciting opportunities that social media appears to open up.

Of course it’s essential to build in emerging channels to our marketing strategies to keep us in contact with our growing audiences but as its true that marketing cannot rely on digital alone, so it is that we need to ensure we are maximising all channels we have at our disposal. And while social is a constantly changing environment, email remains a core feature in our everyday lives and has proved its effectively time and time again.

While social media can be great for raising a brand’s profile, most consumers still respond better to offers made in an email. In this sense, social media is the tool that acts to warm up the audience with email coming in to close the deal.

HostPapa has created an interesting Infographic comparing email and social across 5 major success factors; Benefits, Growth, Usage, Reach and Features with an interesting, but maybe not unexpected result.

Twylah ROCKS Your Twitter Feed Into A Beautiful Trending Magazine [cool tool]

Twylah ROCKS Your Twitter Feed Into A Beautiful Trending Magazine [cool tool] | Buzz on Bizz | Scoop.it

Discover Martin (Marty) Smith (ScentTrail) Twitter Trending Topics : Internet marketing, Social media marketing, Ecommerce, Infographic, Social media and more...

Marty Note
I met Eric and Kelly Kim, Twylah's founders, at the Inbound marketing conference in San Francisco a few months ago. You know when you meet some people and instantly like them? I instantly liked Eric and Kelly and you are going to instantly like what Twylah can do with your Twitter feed.

The best thing about your Twitter feed is what HAS happened and what is ABOUT to happen. Twylah helps you capture the one (HAS) and project the other better (ABOUT). This beautiful feedback loop is like the magic hand. Twylah reminds you of what trended in your feed so you can trend some more. You also get a second chance to share those trending tweets. Instead of poof gone your Tweets, at least the ones that got noticed in the first place, get a second act.

You would expect someone capable of seeing such an artistic genius of an idea to be a tad on the, "If you have to ask I'm way to smart for you," side of the bench. Nope, Eric and Kelly are real people who are about to have bankers tossing money at their feet. The good news is I don't think they will change or care all that much.

You should care because this tool is one of those "Do More With Less" tools I wrote about last week to such viral response (https://www.atlanticbt.com/blog/viral-marketing-5-magical-curation-tools-reaches-400000-2/ ). Twylah is in beta so stop by, apply and see if you don't love this magical tool almost as much as Scoop.it (Marc and Guillaume you guys need to know one another).
