Morrisons, the UK's fourth largest supermarket chain, says it will launch online shopping by January 2014 after agreeing a tie-up with Ocado.
Laurie Waite's insight:

Morrisons to work in co-operation with Ocado to distribute their products after entering the online market. Morrisons were the only one of the big four supermarket chains not to offer an online service, and instead of curating their own distribution network, they are working with Ocado to distribute their products. Chief executive Dalton Philips told BBC Radio 4's Today programme: "This is a very good transaction for both parties. We're going from a standing start to the fast lane in the blink of an eye."

CHIEF executive is set to walk away with a pension pot of up to £15million despite firm being fined £10million for duping customers.

Energy company SSE have recently been fined £10million for mis-selling to customers, and they are prepared to release their CEO Ian Merchant with a pension of £15million. SSE provided "misleading and unsubstantiated statements" to potential customers about prices and savings that could be made by switching to SSE, according to Ofgem, and were also accused of "allowing a culture of mis-selling to continue". This has been recorded as the largest ever penalty imposed on an energy provider. I believe the company should use the money they intend to use to pay off Merchant to reinvest into the company's reorganisation process of eliminating this culture of mis-selling. Merchant doesn't deserve the pay packet at all if he was aware of what the company was doing.
