China’s internet propaganda is more subtle and sophisticated than it ever has been

China’s internet propaganda is more subtle and sophisticated than it ever has been | Business Video Directory | Scoop.it
Chinese government propaganda is often pretty heavy-handed. State media insist that economic growth will be L-shaped, for example, but do not bother to say what that means. A string of bizarre English-language music videos demand praise for China's 13th Five-year Plan, and detail how great Americans find it to work for a Chinese boss. But these examples follow a 20th-century template for propaganda, i

Trump ad hurls sexual-assault accusations against Bill Clinton

Trump ad hurls sexual-assault accusations against Bill Clinton | Business Video Directory | Scoop.it
Donald Trump launched a new social-media ad Monday that uses the emotional words of two women who claimed they were attacked by Bill Clinton to go after Hillary Clinton.

“He starts to bite on my top lip and I try to pull away from him,” Juanita Broaddrick is heard tearfully saying in the black-and-white Instagram ad that shows a creepy-looking Bill Clinton with a cigar in his mouth.

Her chilling comment comes after another Clinton accuser of decades ago, Kathleen Willey, declares: “No woman should be subjected to this. It was an assault.”

The ad ends with Hillary Clinton cackling as a photo of the two Clintons appears with the title “Here We Go Again?”

Trump tweeted, “Is Hillary really protecting women?” with a link to the stinging video.

Broaddrick is a former nursing-home administrator who claims Bill Clinton raped her in Arkansas in 1978 when he was running for governor.

Willey, a former White House volunteer, alleges that Clinton sexually asssaulted her in 1993 during his first term as president.

Trump has made it clear that he intends to make Bill Clinton’s infidelities an issue in the campaign, charging that Hillary Clinton was his “enabler.”

The former first lady didn’t comment Monday on the latest Trump attack on her husband.

But in a preview of the upcoming six-month brutal struggle for the White House, she questioned Trump’s reputation as a successful businessman — which is an underpinning of his outsider campaign.

“Trump economics is a recipe for lower wages, fewer jobs, more debt. He could bankrupt America like he bankrupted his companies,” Hillary Clinton told the Service Employees International Union convention in Detroit.

“I mean, ask yourself: How could anybody lose money running a casino, really?” she said.

Trump’s businesses filed four bankruptcies for casinos he used to own in Atlantic City.

In her remarks, Hillary also called on Democratic rival Bernie Sanders’ supporters to join her to stop Trump from getting into the Oval Office.

“The last thing we need is a bully in the pulpit,” Clinton said.

But while she and Sanders continue battling, the Real Clear Politics averages of national polls showed Trump even with or ahead of Clinton for the first time in the general election, 43.4 to 43.2 percent.

Sanders pounced on the polls while campaigning in California to insist he’s the strongest Democrat who can beat Trump.

The Democratic National Committee tried to placate Sanders Monday by granting him a significant role in shaping the party platform at the party convention, with five of 15 slots on the platform committee compared to Clinton’s six positions. The DNC is naming the remaining four.
