Build Your Own Mobile App With Appsbar

Build Your Own Mobile App With Appsbar | BUSINESS and more | Scoop.it
Everyone talks about how important it is to build an iPhone or Android app, but it doesn’t look inexpensive or easy. Until now. I’ve been testing appsbar, a free Web-based app that allows small business owners create their own iOS or Android application.

I found appsbar.com when researching the digital coupon phenomenon (think Groupon and Living Social) and discovered a post by appsbar founder Scott Hirsch, who built the tool, in part, as a do-it-yourself coupon service. From the merchant point of view, the pricing of coupons is expensive. Most business owners considering coupons could benefit from a tool that lets you build it yourself and keep the profit margins higher...

List of Free Stock Photo Sites

List of Free Stock Photo Sites | BUSINESS and more | Scoop.it

Getting images for free is great, and there is a lot of choice out there, but sourcing images from a free site can have its drawbacks, the license that the images are provided with is different on every site you use. Some sites prohibit commercial use of the image, most require an attribution, some require you register or signup to a newsletter to access the images, some ask that you seek permission first etc.

A word of warning: Expecting that nobody will notice if you make use of an image that you just take without permission is foolish, tools like TinEye make it free and easy to find who has used an image without permission, and stock agencies like getty and others use paid services like picscout.com track image misuse, bill the offender, taking legal action if images are not removed. If you are using images without the correct license, someone will catch up with you sooner or later. here's a typical forum quote "I currently have a demand from getty images for $1200 over an image I hot-linked to in a blog entry 2 years ago."

With that in mind, here's our definitive list of resources providing free stock photos with a table of comparisons:...

PROskore’s New Business Network Aims To Be LinkedIn + Klout + Leads Generation

PROskore’s New Business Network Aims To Be LinkedIn + Klout + Leads Generation | BUSINESS and more | Scoop.it

PROskore is a newly launched business network that ranks your social media activity and influence in combination with your professional experience in order to give you a score denoting your overall professional influence. At first glance, it sounds a lot like Klout, the popular service that measures online influence.

But unlike Klout, PROskore takes into account your business connections and actual work experience in its scoring methodology. It’s also built specifically for business networking purposes, allowing its users to focus on growing their companies. Meanwhile Klout, via its Klout Perks program, is more focused on help brands and advertisers grow their own businesses instead...

38 Brilliant Bloggers Talk About StumbleUpon

38 Brilliant Bloggers Talk About StumbleUpon | BUSINESS and more | Scoop.it

StumbleUpon is the ultimate time waster (and I mean that in a good way!). If you don’t have the toolbar installed, I suggest you do so – it’s your portal to lots of amazing things on the Internet that you’d never find otherwise. You just set your parameters and hit the Stumble button…be warned that it’s easy to spend hours surfing this way.

If you have a hit on StumbleUpon, you can bring in thousands of new visitors – and while traffic does spike, it also continues over time as long as people keep giving you the thumbs up of approval (like a Facebook “like”). Be warned, though – the user’s mouse usually hovers on the Stumble button, so if you don’t catch their attention quickly, they’ll be on to the next random page on the Internet...
