Creating Order From Chaos: 9 Great Ideas For Managing Your Computer Files

Creating Order From Chaos: 9 Great Ideas For Managing Your Computer Files | BUSINESS and more | Scoop.it

It’s frustrating isn’t it when you can’t find that file? When you’ve searched every folder imaginable on your computer, and somehow it got lost….or worse, deleted. Now, there are excellent search tools for Windows that allow you to find your files, but they only work if you know the name of the file. And you don’t want to open up a program to find every file and folder that you need. It’s just nice to have things neat and easy to access whenever you need them.

I’ve put together a list of 9 things you can do to manage computer files and get the most out of your computer. Because that’s its purpose – to be moreuseful, not less useful. But computers are often more complicated in some ways when they’re not set up and used properly, which is essentially counterproductive.

Martin Gysler's insight:

If you're tired of searching your documents on your computer all day and want a system that will help you bring order to your files, then you should read this excellent post.

What I liked is that it is an article that contains all the information needed to have a clear and well organized system for the documents as well as safety tips with the various possibilities in the cloud.

An article truly comprehensive about this topic who deserves your attention.

What Have You Done With Q1?

What Have You Done With Q1? | BUSINESS and more | Scoop.it

An excellent article. I love the structured approach who is easy to use for us all. If you follow the advice provided in this post, the things will be done more easely, for sure! [note mg]

Q1, 2012 is in the record books. What…you haven’t accomplished all that you planned; WHAT…hardly anything? Oh, my!

Well, the good news is you’re hardly alone. In fact, you’re in the majority. We really are a species of habitual procrastinators. So, apparently, you fit right in. After all, most of us do like to feel as if we’re one of the crowd.

Now for the bad news, if you had planned to accomplish X, and didn’t, you bargained with the devil. You repeatedly forfeited some portion of your future success, abundance, and/or happiness for some short-term pleasure or comfort. Hardly a fair exchange, although at the time it may have seemed so.

8 Bold Resolutions For Marketers | Fast Company

8 Bold Resolutions For Marketers | Fast Company | BUSINESS and more | Scoop.it

Here’s a trivia question for you: What was George Harrison’s last released single? The answer, as it turns out, is Any Road, a song that reminds us, “if you don’t know where you’re going, any road will take you there.” This poignant parting gift from the youngest Beatle is worth singing right about now as we plot our annual resolutions for our brands, if not our lives.

Of course, singing is one thing, and resolving to do things is quite another. To get us all on the right track, I first consulted with trailblazing marketers at Cablevision, Eloqua, Fandango, IBM, PetCo, SAP, and the Grammys. Their insights, based on longer separate interviews, form the basis for these 8 “must do” resolutions for marketers seeking a clear direction on the road ahead.

DON’T Check Your Email First Thing in The Morning | BUSINESS and more | Scoop.it

In the beginning it’s tempting to check your email all day long, especially in the morning after you’ve been offline for eight or ten hours – Maybe you finally made a sale or one of your readers tried to contact you. Here are three reasons you don’t want to check your email first thing in the morning.

Martin Gysler's insight:

Social Media Marketing Checklist

Social Media Marketing Checklist | BUSINESS and more | Scoop.it

While putting together a presentation recently, I assembled a simple check list of considerations for a social media marketing effort. We’ve written quite a bit about developing a social media roadmap, strategy and measurement in the past, but there are some important questions to answer when it comes to realizing what’s involved. Companies can test and run tactics in silos but eventually, there will come a time when efforts need to be coordinated.

You may notice that this checklist isn’t that concerned with SEO. Don’t take that to mean Search Engine Optimization isn’t to be heavily considered with a social media marketing effort. At the same time, not all social media efforts need to be SEO focused.
