10 Powerful Productivity Tips You Can Practice | BUSINESS and more | Scoop.it

Points to Remember in Improving Your Leadership Skills

Points to Remember in Improving Your Leadership Skills | BUSINESS and more | Scoop.it

As a leader, you should always remember that people do not tend to be productive when they’re just pushed to do something and would tend to perform much better if they’ll be inspired to do a thing because of a great cause or motivated and guided by a person they really respect. Therefore, in order to become an effective leader, you need to learn how to make your people understand the reason why they need to do their best in what they do. Do not push them too hard as this would only cause them to think you are just after your very own benefits. Learn how leadership skills to motivate them to work by seeing the benefits they’ll be getting from it and how important they’re for the whole team to succeed.

You need to make your member understand that each and every one of them has a very important role in the success of the team. And only through doing their best and working together will they be able to achieve the team’s goal. Also it is really important to know all your members’ strengths and weaknesses, as this will greatly help you in properly assigning specific tasks to them and utilizing their fullest potential. Pushing them too much could just make them do the opposite; this would just generate hate and irritation from your members, so avoid doing this...

Great ideas only come around every so often, but some of us simply lack the ambition to bring these concepts to life. The startup business is a cutthroat world full of forceful competition, and the entire experience of attempting to build your company from the ground up can definitely be an intimidating one. Fortunately, Foursquare Co-Founder Dennis Crowley was able to part with a bit of welcome advice during an interview with angel investor Kevin Rose.

Foursquare, with well over 10 million users worldwide and 750 million total “check-ins” on the service, is funded by Union Square Ventures, O’Reilly AlphaTech Ventures, Andreessen Horowitz as well as a handful of angel investors including Kevin Rose himself.
