Richard Branson has built eight separate billion-dollar companies. Here, he shares some of his best advice.
Michael John Freestone's insight:

The man has brains but more so he has brass appendages.

It is my personal belief that these people are born. Entrepreneurs are people that don't need to be taught they get an idea and go for it. Those of us with all the academic knowledge in the world try and think of all the pitfalls  We do add balance however which is extremely important.

We have just recently opened a business in the UK to deal with those poor Individuals whose ideas have, for whatever reason , failed.

Most 25 to 35-year-olds suffering from a 'quarter-life crisis'

Most 25 to 35-year-olds suffering from a 'quarter-life crisis' | Business Support for the CEO | Scoop.it
Anxiety: Many young adults feel 'locked into' their lives
Michael John Freestone's insight:

Planning and strategising is not just done for businesses. You must have your own plan. By the time you are 35 you will more than likely be going through a "quarter life crisis". The world has changed and has a greater fluidity due to the information age which has grown so fast we cannot keep. This creates a sense that we must keep up and this in turn adds to the Internet "knowledge base".

‘Today’s 20 and 30-somethings can have five jobs by their early 30s.

‘They are entering a different world and while that world gives them more choice it also gives them less security and  less structure.

Emotional Intelligence | MJF GROUP

Emotional Intelligence | MJF GROUP | Business Support for the CEO | Scoop.it

We have all worked with and listened to brilliant people. Some of them were great and… well, some were not so great. The mean and the meek and all those in between can teach us more than they realize. When we look at the truly extraordinary people who inspire and make a difference you will see that they do this by connecting with people at a personal and emotional level. What differentiated them was not their IQ but their EQ

Michael John Freestone's insight:
  • S: Sit quietly with your arms and legs uncrossed.
  • O: Maintain an open posture.
  • L: Lean slightly forward in the direction of the speaker.
  • E: Maintain eye contact. Be sensitive though – some people are uncomfortable with extended eye contact.

R: Stay relaxed. Pay particular attention to your shoulders and neck.

Predictions for marketing in 2016

Predictions for marketing in 2016 | Business Support for the CEO | Scoop.it
Five themes for the future of marketing resonated across multiple surveys and form the basis for these predictions for marketing in 2016

Via iNeoMarketing, Cambridge Marketing Colleges, Pantelis Chiotellis
Michael John Freestone's insight:

Excerpt: "Predictions Are Always Risky…

because they won’t apply to all companies equally.  The ones you read here were put together for large and very large companies.  But as an ex-strategic planner and inveterate “data junkie”, I’d rather read them and judge for myself how they might impact my company, and whether I should build them into my planning."

How to clean up your start up business

How to clean up your start up business | Business Support for the CEO | Scoop.it
It took Chris Ndongeni over three years to break even with his contract cleaning business. He shares his three start-up lessons.
Michael John Freestone's insight:

Try it for free:

StratPad, Business planning made simple.   Cloud-based business plan software.

http://www.mjfgroup.biz/stratpad/

Excerpt:

Our first day was a huge shock because we hadn’t done enough research. We assumed that the previous contract cleaning firm would have left equipment and chemicals behind for us to use, but when we arrived there was nothing! As a result our first month was a huge scramble of taking loans and using provident funds to get equipment and chemicals.

"Had we known before we started, we could have made more considered purchases and business decisions – in fact we only discovered after we’d gone into business there was a National Contract Cleaning Association (NCCA).”

How do you avoid this? Use Stratpad made for entrepreneurs.

Try it for free. Stratpad has a full video training site that covers every aspect of Stratpad.

It covers the full aspect of a start up business strategy, operational and financial plans leading to a complete business plan.
