Australian airline Qantas issues a profit warning, and says "immense challenges" mean 1,000 jobs must be shed.

Shardeholders are putting pressure on the company,a drop of 15% in share prices. It's also getting more pressure from major rivals like Virgin. The situation is so bad its forced them to cut 1,000 jobs, and even the CEO Alan Joyce had to take a 38% cut in his pay, all to try and salvage profitability
