Create a website for your bakery. Include all the information about your bakery and tell everyone what products you sell. Create a Facebook page and a Twitter page. You can also create an Instagram and post the pictures of your products. Post about having specials and follow people that might follow your bakery. You can even email customers, but make sure to not email them too much. Just once or twice a month when you have new products.

Advertise your business in the local newspaper and ads. Make sure you plan on when you want to advertise your products. Thinking of seasonal or holidays can help promote your business. Offer a variety of specials to attract more customers. Place your ad where everyone will see it.
Vanessa Drapala's comment, March 26, 2014 7:55 AM
Promote through bright colors that stand out. Have a logo that represents your bakery. Introduce what you are known for and maybe even have a special offer on that product. It's all about advertising to the public. Do anything you can to get your business out there.

in order to open up your own bakery, you need to buy certain food equipment. To start off with, you will need to purchase an oven. It an be a convection oven or a double convection oven. This will hold double the amount of food. Another thing you will need to buy is a proof box. This will help your baked goods rise if they need to be risen. Mixers are needed to mix all the ingredients together in a faster way. Finding a good one will help the job go faster. Baking sheets and racks are used to cook the baked goods on and then when they are done, you can let them cool on the cooling rack. You will need to buy plenty more of equipment but these are the biggest things you will have to have.

Hire the right amount of people and make sure they are experienced enough. Find people who can work in the kitchen and make the desserts and people to work in the back office with paper work and truck orders. Take your time making these decisions and hire the right people, so you do not waste your money on someone who is not good.

Before you open a business, you need to register it to make sure you can open up your own baking account and apply for loans. Every business must register through B.C Registry Services online or in person at Small Business B.C. You have 56 days to register your business name once your name has been approved. You can register as a sole proprietorship or partnership, a society, corporation, or a co-operative. You can not run your business without a license. To get one, the owners need to register online, through mail, or going in person.

You can choose to register for the Employee Insurance Special Benefits for Self-Employed People. These include Sickness benefits, Maternity benefits, Parental benefits, and Compassionate Care benefits. You will have to pay for El premiums on the self-employment income. You then need to wait about a year to apply for benefits.

Experience their own bakery and service yourself. Go into another bakery and see what they are selling and how much money they are selling their products for. Compare their products to yours. Change whatever you need to do to attract more customers.

Have sales on your baked goods. People will see how cheap they are and they will want to buy more.

Make the inside of your bakery stand out. Fill your bakery cases with all the products you made. Make it light up so everyone can see when they walk in. Offer a variety of different baked goods and show them in the bakery case. Make sure you have excellent customer service and greet anyone who comes in.

Look around the neighborhood you plan on opening up your bakery in order to see what other bakeries are there and who all you have to compete against. Decide on the types of baked goods you are going to sell. This is very important when it comes to opening up our own bakery.

Think of one product that is going to be your "main product," and hire people to specialize in that area. Advertise the bakery in the paper and all over the neighborhood. Focus more on your main product to advertise to show that off first.

you'll need to buy kitchen equipment and ingredients to make all your products. You can find equipment on ebay or craigslist at a cheaper price. The equipment you buy will have to be commercial restaurant kitchen equipment.

There are many steps in order to take to make sure your business runs well. You have to find out where it is going to be located and what you are going to sell. You need to make sure you have a plan and know where you want it to be; in the city or the country. Next thing you need to do is order the equipment and supplies and figure out the prices for all the products. Knowing how much is spent on the ingredients will help you figure out what the prices should be and how much money. Decorating the outside and inside of the shop is very important. Make sure the outside looks very appealing and nice, as well as the inside. Buy a computer system to log all the information of your shop and the inventory.
