ANCHORAGE, Alaska (AP) — Ever since a crabbing boat was converted into a floating strip club off the shore of an Alaska island, it's been beset by legal tangles over safety rules and liquor laws. Now there are allegations it's been dumping huma...
In summer 2014 I became inspired to begin the journey of following my personal mission statement: To creatively develop spaces that spark conversations on diversity, encourage collaboration, and inspire action to address social change. I was taking a course for my masters in Community & Social Change program, and happened to learn about an organization based on the west coast of Florida called Embracing Our Differences (EOD). The EOD mission is to promote diversity and inclusion throughout their community, and for over 10 years it has collaborated with schools in Sarasota County to produce a free large-scale, outdoor art exhibit thats been seen by 1.5 million visitors. Whether you are a member of an association board of directors or are a manager assisting such a community, it is important to understand that (a) everything you put in writing can and will be used against you and (b) some topics and situations are not well suited to an email response.
