I DNA Great Content

I DNA Great Content | BI Revolution | Scoop.it
Just as successful professionals and companies share similar traits, so do great content marketing campaigns. They all have four key elements that make up the code for building great content.

http://bit.ly/IB4020

Ahava Leibtag - http://bit.ly/IB8MN0 - calls them "The Four I's"

1. Inform

Through daily emails, engaging eBooks, and valuable white papers, its content creators churn and burn on important digital and marketing issues of the day.

2. Instruct

Explain your product and coach / support your customer

3. Inspire

Creating an emotional connection with customers

4. Initiate

It’s important to make your customers feel part of a community.

Distribution is critical to a great content marketing campaign across the right channels ensuring that you have identified the answers to these fundamental and imperative questions:

A>Branding/messaging:

Who are you, and what do you represent and offer? What do you need to say? How can you provide value to your customers?
B>User profiles or personas:  http://bit.ly/IB8wO1

Who are you trying to reach? What do they care about? Where and across what channels do they consume content?
C>Define the campaign:

What types of content are best for these users?

How will you distribute it so there is a cohesive user experience across all components of the campaign?

Ultimately, make sure you inform, instruct, inspire, and initiate your customers and you’ll have chain after chain of great content marketing campaigns.

Knowing What You Don't Know Before It Crushes You - Customer CQS

Knowing What You Don't Know Before It Crushes You - Customer CQS | BI Revolution | Scoop.it

Atlantic BT, Raleigh web developers and Internet marketers, have created a new project management tool called CQS.

***** My boss, entrepreneur Jon Jordan, created this very cool idea based on Net Promoter Score (NPS) for tracking quality through the lifecycle of a project. Now all we need to do is gamify Continuous Quality Score (CQS) to make it fun and insure all our customers "play" every week and we will have a new, cool, organic metric for our web development and Internet marketing health across our customers, projects and time. Great to work for a genius :). Marty

Content Curation: A New Way to Approach the Internet

Content Curation: A New Way to Approach the Internet | BI Revolution | Scoop.it

A new SEO strategy uses content curation which may drive site traffic and even help generate site content. An upcoming Part 2 will also be on Fahrenheit's blog.

***** This is such a great and timely Scoop by Gladys (who rocks btw) because Google's Panda makes this kind of content curation SO IMPORTANT. Panda loves recent, well-loved content. This outline shows you how to include curation in your mix. Why is that important?

I write about 1,000 words in a morning (and took years to get there), so I can put up something north of 300,000 to 500,000 words a year. NOT ENOUGH by half these days as Amazon approaches a billion (that is with a B) pages in Google and not fast enough either. Curation, with great tools like Scoop.it, provides a greater return.

Content creation creates a 2 to 1 or, if your content goes viral, maybe the occasional 10 to 1 return on your time. Content curation can consistently generate higher returns because:

1. Easy to do MORE of it, so bets are more hedged waiting on analytics to see what is hitting.

2. Once you SEE a bloom such as Pinterest in your curation you can double down with original content, but it is hard to go the other way due to the time commitment it takes to write original content.

Great post-Panda scoop here from Gladys.

Is Blogging And Tweeting Worth It?

Is Blogging And Tweeting Worth It? | BI Revolution | Scoop.it

***** This well organized and written post is about research papers, but don't let that frighten you away. The truths Jenny learned apply to anything and her "twitter lessons" are right on. If Jenny ever wants to leave academia she can come work for me as an Internet marketer (bit of a come down I realize :). Marty

"In October 2011 I began a project to make all of my 26 articles published in refereed journals available via UCL’s Open Access Repository – “Discovery“. I decided that as well as putting them in the institutional repository, I would write a blog post about each research project, and tweet the papers for download. Would this affect how much my research was read, known, discussed, distributed?"

2012 Digital Content Marketing Survey [Research Report]

2012 Digital Content Marketing Survey [Research Report] | BI Revolution | Scoop.it

2012 Digital Content Marketing Survey

Brandpoint and the Content Marketing Institute recently queried 389 marketing decision-makers and found some interesting content marketing trends, including a shift toward outsourcing in content creation.

What’s working?

What are the most important attributes of content?

Here are some of the key takeaways from the surveyhttp://bit.ly/IQpPeQ

~Marketers embrace a variety of online tools, but still perceive quality as key to the success of their online efforts.
~They prefer the written word and consider it more effective than images. Social content on such networks as Facebook and Twitter, blogging, press releases and online articles all rank ahead of video as the forms of content most frequently used by marketers.
~The majority say it’s most important that their online content is written for people, rather than search engines.
~What’s more, the majority of content marketers are willing to pay more for the added value of well-crafted, customized, professionally written copy.

Welcome to the NEW Google+ Profile Page

Welcome to the NEW Google+ Profile Page | BI Revolution | Scoop.it
By  Peggy Fitzpatrick  and Paul Biedermann...

Today Google+ made an update and changed all the sizes for your profile images. The new art required is broken into three definitions and sizes:

1. Profile picture — larger than before with a minimum upload of 250 pixels X 250 pixels and a recommended format of jpg or png.

2. Cover photo — a large panoramic style photo that goes behind and extends past your profile picture on the right side. This new format ties the images together nicely, making a lot of impact. It can also create a beautiful branded image for you and/or your company. The size is 940 pixels X 180 pixels and the recommended format is either jpg or png.

3. Scrapbook photos — these can either be five individual photos or one large photo cropped into individual squares that are 110 pixels X 110 pixels. The recommended format is jpg, png, or gif.

Your Website Might Be Over Optimized If … | BI Revolution | Scoop.it
There has been a great deal of speculation about Google’s forthcoming penalty for “over-optimized” or “overly SEOed” sites. Please place your tongue in your cheek as you read some thoughts on how to recognize a website has been over optimized.

Easy to be "over optimized" by just following the old rulles a little too much. New rules is let oganic curation set the SERPs not over optimizing even if you are using Google's rules. Marty

GREAT Next Generation Business Intelligence (BI) White Paper

Found this excellent BI white paper while writing a press release for Entrinsik's Informer (a massivley cool data agnostic coupling tool I want real, real BAD :). Here is what CGI does so well here:

  • They accurate summarize existing BI frustrations
  • Meaningful case studies that, between them, create a 360 view of BI
  • Let readers inside their decision tree and processes (very transparent)

CGI is a HUGE Canadian IT consulting company (billions in revenue and more than 30K employees), but CGI doesn't walk or talk the same large corporate drivel.

There is some obvious self promotion in this paper, but their Next Generation Business Intellignece paper is FREE, and there is real creativity, great information and helpful data well presented succently in six pages. Well done CGI! If you, your team or company is working on a BI solution or tweaking an existing BI solution then grab this quick read PDF and see if you don't have the same, "Learned something" reaction.
