Kickstarter Crowdfunding Stats: Great for Music, Film, Video and Tech

Kickstarter Crowdfunding Stats: Great for Music, Film, Video and Tech | BI Revolution |
Martin (Marty) Smith's insight:

Kickstarter Stats
Kickstarter provides amazing if a little veiled stats. I pulled out key metrics such as success vs. not and found the crowdfunding platform is great for Tech, Film, Video and Music.

Fashion has the lowest success rate (only 28% when the average is 41%).

Dance had the highest success rate (71%), but the lowest ask of around $300.

Tech had an average success rate, but the biggest money to the bank with an average ask of $72,964 just ahead of games coming in with an average take to the bank of $70K.

Most funded projects raised LESS than $10K and Kickstarters overall strike rate is around 40% so about 4 in 10 projects make money.
