Whether they know it or not, all business owners are leaders to their business and those who work in it, and it is beholden upon them to develop their leadership skills to the highest level they are capable of achieving.


A key leadership skill, one which marks the difference between good leaders and great leaders, is the skill of being able to display genuine empathy towards other people and their problems.


This excellent article, suggests that not only do leaders need to display this skill but they also need to create widespread empathy towards customers by the people they employ, and it provides seven tips to develop empathy on an organisational level.

Leadership is all too easily manipulated to personal ends. There is always a personal competion going on. Sonmeone always wants what you have, and you yearn for "better".  Sad really.  Empathy cannot be learned, it has to be instilled.  It takes a certain sort of person to be a great leader - one who is led without recourse to demand leadership.
