The article talks about how to be successful coming from those who are extremely successful, such as Mark Zuckerberg. It says what type of attitude to have when addressing things. The attitude you should have is one of not being afraid to take chances and persevere when the going gets tough.

Kira Saini's curator insight, March 6, 2014 9:25 AM

This article is discussing the skills that successful entrepreneurs have. Out of all the skills, striving to work harder and increase your intelligence to reduce making mistakes can be connected to them. This article basically says that learning is more important to being successful than proving you are smart.

Why We Need Digital Wisdom

Why We Need Digital Wisdom | Business English | Scoop.it

Fewer and fewer jobs can be done without technology. Our increasingly sophisticated technologies enable our enhanced minds to do many previously impossible things, such as mass individualization, and quickly connecting and combining ideas from humans around the world.

Since Gingko is tree-based, one person can work on the overall organization, while a second is writing the main points of a particular section, and a third is taking those points and fleshing them out in a subsection.

Very good app for long documents. You could work in a 3 tree level, allowing you to conect between levels, add links, pics, etc... quite user-friendly.

Zeega is a great tool for creating digital narrative. Users can add their own media as well as using found media from around the internet and media supplied by Zeega. They drag media onto digital pages and can edit them and add their own text commentary and sound track. Here's a great example http://zeega.com/152325 which celebrates 50 years since martin Luther King's 'I had a dream' speech.

Terry Yelmene's curator insight, August 29, 2013 11:35 AM

Zeega is yet another curator offering, but with some interesting, more potent, multi-sourcing capabilites. Check it out!

Using Bloom's Taxonomy In The 21st Century: 4 Strategies For Teaching

Using Bloom's Taxonomy In The 21st Century: 4 Strategies For Teaching | Business English | Scoop.it

For decades, education reform has been focused on curriculum, assessment, instruction, and more recently standards, and data, with these efforts only bleeding over into how students think briefly, and by chance. This means that the focus of finite teacher and school resources are not on promoting thinking and understanding, but rather what kinds of things students are going to be thinking about and how they’ll prove they understand them.

A good discussion of Bloom's Taxonomy that includes useful cautionary discussions about the potential misuse of digital technology. I especially liked the mention about improper strategies for teaching introverts, an issue that is often glossed over in our current zest for group activities.

Teacher Agency: Educators Moving from a Fixed to a Growth Mindset

Teacher Agency: Educators Moving from a Fixed to a Growth Mindset | Business English | Scoop.it

It is a myth that we operate under a set of oppressive bureaucratic constraints. In reality, teachers have a great deal of autonomy in the work they chose to do in their classrooms. In most cases it is our culture that provides the constraints. For individual teachers, trying out new practices and pedagogy is risky business and both our culture, and our reliance on hierarchy, provide the ideal barriers for change not to occur.

How to Create Storied Videos to Capture Your Audience

How to Create Storied Videos to Capture Your Audience | Business English | Scoop.it

When it comes to marketing strategy, videos are powerful. How powerful? On Facebook, for example, videos are shared 12 times more than non-video posts. And let’s not forget YouTube, the second largest search engine in the world (after Google, of course). The ability of videos to increase user engagement is unsurpassed.

According to YouTube’s statistics page, they get over 800 million unique visitors each month, users view more than 4 billion hours of video each month and upload 72 hours of video every minute. That’s a lot of potential for your video....
