Social organization

Angela Balzano's curator insight, February 19, 2014 1:44 PM

This article outlines the 7 Elements of A Successful Social Business.  These elements include 1. Define a meaningful purpose 2. Simplify the user experience 3. Designate a social executive sponsor 4. Trust your people 5. Implement and drive engagement 6. Measure adoption and recognize achievements 7. Embrace change and have fun.

Marketing and advertising has made the switch to being consumer-centered rather than company-centered.  Businesses know that they way to reach consumers is by creating communications and content that consumers want to see or is useful to them in some way.  To make this happen on a large scale, and to strengthen the relationship between business and customer, social media must be integrated in a company's business plan from the ground up.  Social media must not be a side function, there needs to be dedication, creativity, and passion for social communication within the business in order to capture your audience through social media.  Those who sparing invest in social media will surely be left behind and irrelevant in the near future.  -Angela

Philippe Trebaul's curator insight, March 20, 12:38 AM

What is the common thread in the following statistics? Thirty-six percent increase in brand awareness, 66% less time to bring products to market, 20% improvement in customer conversions, 15% increase in successful innovations and new ideas?

Answer: These are just some of the quantitative results attributed to becoming a social business. With dramatic benefits like these, why aren't allbusinesses social by now? The fact is, becoming a social business can be quite difficult, especially without a well-thought-out implementation plan.

Make Customers Fall in Love with Your Business

Marc Kneepkens's curator insight, February 13, 2014 11:52 AM

Especially in small businesses it is very possible to become 'loved' by your customers. Everything is more personalized, you have to work better than your competitor and 'over-deliver'.

Do better than what the expectations are, and create your own image by really catering to what your client is looking for. Go the extra mile. Word-of-mouth will do the rest.

A great example of a business that is love very much is SBI/Sitesell, a company that teaches you how to find your niche, combine that with the right keywords, and set up your website around that. They host, teach, provide forums (very active and friendly), customer service (second to none) and show ways on how to 'monetize' your site. Here is a link: http://www.sitesell.com/welcome23.html

Daniel Watson's curator insight, February 16, 2014 6:14 PM

Business owners everywhere face multiple challenges, not the least of which is increasing the engagement levels of employees, in order to facilitate greater productivity and ultimately profitability.

One way in which business owners can increase the engagement of their employees, is to look closely at how successful franchise groups help their franchisees to remain engaged with the franchisor's offering, and ensure that their staff are also engaged with the relevant brand.

This excellent article written by the leader of a franchise group, stresses that in any change process it is important to remember and value your employees in all of the changes you make, and it outlines 14 ways his group is approaching the employee engagement challenge in the coming 12 months.

John Michel's curator insight, February 16, 2014 7:36 PM

Just as leadership style can be redefined and perfected, so can -- and should -- a company's culture. As president of a franchisee system, I know it's important to constantly innovate and improve to keep all team members on board, and here are the tips I'm applying to make 2014 a banner year.
