This is an inspirational article about overcoming obstacles - the video clip of Diana Nyad is not her post-success victory speech, it is a speech she gave between her failed attempt and eventual record swim.

How to Succeed in Business Without Knowing a Thing | Switch and Shift

How to Succeed in Business Without Knowing a Thing | Switch and Shift | Business | Scoop.it
I hate business. Perhaps not the ideal, but what it has come to embody and represent. Though, my dislike doesn’t stem from the pursuit of profit. I don’t believe that money is the root of all evil. No, my dislike, and even sometimes disgust, comes from the all too common pursuit of profit over doing what’s right. My conviction that I would never partake in this practice has led me down what some would consider an unusual path.
Marie Clement's insight:

I think this is a little misleading as "without knowing a thing" implies you get up, decide on an idea then off you go!  The author obviously knows his specialist areas and how to do a great job with customers.  Interesting article anyway and I love this Steve Jobs quote he used: “When you’re a carpenter making a beautiful chest of drawers, you’re not going to use a piece of plywood on the back, even though it faces the wall and nobody will ever see it. You’ll know it’s there so you’re going to use a beautiful piece of wood on the back.”

Is Jelly The Next Twitter? Use Biz Stone’s Q&A App For Business

Is Jelly The Next Twitter? Use Biz Stone’s Q&A App For Business | Business | Scoop.it
Not so long ago (7 years, to be exact), this thing called Twitter came into being. When this micro-blogging tool hit the Interwebs, there were two kinds of people that were using it; those who saw the potential and experimented, and those who tried using it, but really couldn’t get the point of it. In fact, it was doubtful that even the co-founders of Twitter could even imagine how popular and important the app would be, less than a decade down the road.
