5 Tips for Finding the Right Social Influencers for Your Brand | Convince and Convert

5 Tips for Finding the Right Social Influencers for Your Brand | Convince and Convert | Business | Scoop.it

As marketers, we create content in order to persuade and engage with customers. But modern consumers are skeptical and savvy. The moment something hints of “ad,” they lose interest and move on.

Whether you sell fitness and health products, tour packages, or home services, a single positive recommendation from a trusted source can trump even your most beautifully written copy or most engaging video demonstration. And while brand-crafted content is useful and can help build trust with customers, sometimes the most influential content comes from like-minded people that your customers know and trust...

Alan Gray's insight:

Finding the right people and then engaging with them is one way, but sometimes it takes a lot of patience to get interaction back. Don't give up.

How Can Speakers Shine Like a Diamond in Public Arena? | Business | Scoop.it
Joe Yazbeck, with more than 30 years experience in business and the arts, is the author of the book, No Fear Speaking. He is a best-selling author on Amazon.
Alan Gray's insight:

A great book for anyone who is either already doing some public speaking, but not doing it well, or wanting to start. If you get sweaty palms, start shaking before you get to the front, does your mouth dry out while you're speaking?

Yazbeck can help stop that and instead of being nervous, you can inspire and influence other people through your speech.

He has tips and more importantly exercises to build confidence and presentation skills. He also tells secrets that the great speech makers use to inspire their audiences. There is also a list of the worst mistakes most speakers make and he tells how to avoid those.

Joe Ambrose's curator insight, March 18, 2015 10:04 AM

I have been asked this question for a few years now...I am on Linked IN, but how do I leverage it to grow my business.  I thought there were some good ideas in this chart.  Each of these ideas is a "door opener" to reach out to one of contacts.

My one caveat is the assumption you know all the contacts in your network in some capacity.  By the way, I subscribe to having people in your network that you can identify with in some capacity.  There is a bunch of debate on this topic, but I always look at one key factor: Would this person respond to me if I sent them an email, gave them a call, etc.?  If not....then they are just a name in your contact list...much like the stack of business cards you may have hidden in your desk.

Philip Kapneck: Have a Positive Outlook and Attitude in Business and in Life | Business | Scoop.it
Philip Kapneck, the Maryland Trade Ambassador, used the words "Have a Positive Outlook and Attitude in Business and in Life" as his motto in 1970, and I am told he continues to use this motto today
Alan Gray's insight:

Is the glass half full or half empty. The answer to that question has always depended on your point of view. In business, it matter a lot which way you see things. So too in life.

In this story, three men who don't know each other, obviously see the positive side of things and they each emphasize and work on their strengths, while allowing others to use their own strengths in areas that are not their forte.

Michael Q. Todd Invites Social Movers To Join Empire Avenue Startup

Michael Q. Todd Invites Social Movers To Join Empire Avenue Startup | Business | Scoop.it
Empire Avenue, a social startup that helps social people and social businesses reach a larger audience and connect with social movers and shakers, is moving to the next level.
Alan Gray's insight:

Social sharing is a great way to help your quality content reach more people who would care about it, if they new it existed. Finding people who share quality content in your niche can be difficult and getting them to share your content can be even harder.

The answer may be to find a place where social sharers gather, in a place where you can review their work and their reach, especially of you can ask them to help you.

That place could be Empire Avenue, a place you can connect and also test your connecting skills. This story explains how it can work for you.
